Abstract

A process for preparing urea feed for ruminants in which powders of leaves, roots of herbs, woods, barks, raw brans and brewing lees are once fermented and then the solution of biulet or urea obtained by heating said biulet or urea is mixed thereby to be combined with metabolite formed from the fermentation. According to the present invention, the feed can be obtained which controls the rising of ammonia and raises the protein-substitution rate by the characteristic slow solubility of the present invention when the feed according to the present invention is feeded to ruminants.

Description

A PROCESS FOR PREPARING UREA FEED CONTAINING LARGE QUANTITY OF NON¬ PROTEIN NITROGEN FOR RUMINANTS
FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a process for pre¬ paring urea feed for ruminants in which powders of leaves, roots of herbs, woods, barks and raw brans or brewing lees are once fermented, and then the solution of biulet or urea obtained by heating said biulet or urea which are sources of nonprotein nitrogen is mixed with said fermented vegetable materials, raw brans or brewing lees at optional ratio and, finally, prepared into particles or powders.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a urea feed for ruminants as before entioned in which the biulet or urea which can cut down the production costs are utilized in order to provide low-priced urea feed. The utilization of said biulet or urea is well known for production of the feed for ruminants because said biulet or urea are eco- nomic sources of protein.
However, the feed for ruminants utilizing said biulet or urea has been having danger of harming ruminants in case the method of feeding is not appropriate because of ammonia-poisoning. The inventors have studied to pro- vide the feed for ruminants which does not harm even if utilizing biulet or urea. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a process for pre¬ paring urea feed containing large quantity of nonprotein nitrogen for ruminants using powders of leaves, roots of herbs, woods, barks, raw brans or brewing lees.
As well known, biulet or urea which are economic materials are used for production of feed for ruminants- as the sources of protein, however, such conventional - feed is dangerous for harming ruminants because of po- isoning of ammonia in case that the feeding method is not appropriate. This danger Is resulted from that proper quantity of urea used together with normal feed becomes resolved ammonia in the paunch by urease which is ferment, and this ammonia acts to multiply sugar formed from the feed and microorganisms in the paunch, and, finally, said multiplied microorganisms act as source of protein nutri¬ tion for ruminants.
On the contrary, when urea is feeded in excess, the ammonia is produced in great quantity in a short time and becomes high concentration which is over that micro¬ organisms in the paunch require, and the excessive ammo¬ nia is absorbed Into the body of microorganism at the wall of the paunch, and then gets into the blood at high concen¬ tration, namely becomes over the counteraction of the liver of ruminants, and, finally, becomes the cause of death from ammonia-poisoning. Thus, before entioned disadvantage has been the obstacle to use inexpensive urea as a source of protein for ruminants.
Some urea feed has been developed to feed ruminants and still there was problem to be solved in practical and effective sides so that such developed urea feed has been used for ruminants little.
We, the Inventors, therefore, have been studied in order to prepare urea feed which is harmless and highly effective for ruminants for many years and we have solved a process for preparing urea feed for ruminants, and we have found that the urea feed according to the present invention has excellent results as experiments for many years as follows:
The urea feed according to the present invention dissolves in the paunch slowly so that, is highly safe for ruminants, therefore, the urea feed of the present inven¬ tion raises the utility value of urea for ruminants and improves the characteristic quick dissoluability of urea which causes hygroscopicity and hardening of feed, and, further, improves the loss of taste caused by the gas of ammonia produced by decomposition of urea. Accordingly, it becomes possible that the feed according to the present invention can be mixed with the ingredients of other kinds of feeds of domestic animals optio ally, thus, the costs of production of feed can be cut down as providing good urea feed having large quantity of nutriment, furthermore, can massproduce excellent urea feed according to the present invention. Therefore, the object of the present invention is to provide feed for ruminants which has no danger of death from ammonia poisoning and is to provide a process for preparing urea feed which has high effect to produce protein .
In the present invention, powders of leaves, roots of herbs, woods, barks, raw brans or brewing lees are mixed wit each other, and uses the liguid obtained by boiling the soybean lees and wheat bran as the medium and adds some urea as the source of nitrogen, and inoculates the materials with Bacillus which forms large quantity of mutin and Aspelgillus belonging to molds as the strains, and then the cultivation is carried out under condition of 25°C to 40°C of constant temperature and 70% to 80% of humidity and dried, and solution obtained by heating biulet or urea at 130°C to 175°C separately is added to the above fermented material at optional ratio with kneading well, and when the kneaded material has become soft or hard state, it is prepared as powder or particle by means of grinding. Example 1
Powder of rice husk(50 Kg), grasses(50 Kg), wheat bran(5 Kg) and soybean lees(5 Kg) were put into clear water(40 Lt) and boiled, and urea(2.5 to 3 Kg) is added into said boiled liquid to be dissolved therein and then the medium was obtained by the above step, and powder of grasses is mixed with the above said medium kneading well and the Bacillus Nato-strain and the Bacillus Suboillis' strain were inoculated and then kept under condition of 30°C to 40°C of temperature and 65% to 75% of humidity for 25 hours to be fermented and dried.
Separately, to solution(100 Kg) obtained by heating biulet or urea at 135°C to 170°C of temperature the dried fermentd material(lOOKg) was added kneading well and then formed as particles through former, or prepared as particle or powder by grinding after being cooled.
Example 2
Wood-powder(50Kg) , brewing lees(30Kg) and wheat bran(20Kg) were mixed with each other, and, separately, wheat bran(5Kg) and barley bran(5Kg) were put into clear water and coiled, and into thus boiled liquid, urea(2Kg to 3Kg) was added to obtain medium liquid. And the above mixture of wood-powder, brewing lees and wheat bran was mixed with said medium liquid and then the Aspergillus , Oryzde and the Saccharomyces , Sake were inoculated, and kept under condition of 25°C to 35°C of constant temperature and 65% to 75% of humidity for 25 hours and dried.
As hereinbefore mentioned, in the present invention, plural vegetable materials can be mixed with each other.
According to the present invention, the defects of conventional urea feed can be solved- by means of combin¬ ing biologically, active materials formed in the process of fermentation with urea by inoculating the material with strains which are easilv obtained. As mentioned hereinbefore, the process of the present invention is simple and the costs of production of the urea feed is relatively low though the feed according to the present invention has high potent of protein.

Claims

WHAT IS CLAIMED IS:
A process for preparing urea feed containing large quantity of nonprotein nitrogen for .ruminants in which powders of leaves, roots of herbs, woods, barks, raw brans or brewing lees are once fermented, and solution prepared by heating biulet or urea is mixed with said fer¬ mented materials at optional ratio thereby allowing the metabolites produced from the fermented materials to be combined with urea or the like.
