Definitions

  • the invention relates to a curler for putting curls in human hair.
  • curlers Widely varying embodiments of curlers are known, e.g. according to German Utility Model DE-GM 77 33 511. in which a first end section of a curler has a pin projecting axially outwards, and a second end section has an annular groove which extends transversely in relation to the longitudinal axis and has a button-shaped bulbous outward extension in front of the groove.
  • the pin and the annular groove are provided for securing an elastic retaining band.
  • a curler has a section which is axially rotationally resilient and has radial openings through which a needle can be freely inserted, the curler thereby adapting itself radially by means of its resilience to the changing length of the hair during the hair styling process. It is a disadvantage that this curler cannot be used for the hair in the neck region owing to the restriction of head movement by the needles resting on the neck.
  • a curler of the first-mentioned embodiment is well suited for this purpose, but has the disadvantage that it may cause so-called kink marks or pressure marks on account of the elastic retaining band in contrast to the second type of curler mentioned.
  • the inventor set himself the task of providing a new type of curler which combines the advantages of the above-mentioned curlers.
  • the present invention provides a curler in which:
  • a first end section of the curler has a pin which projects axially outwards, and a second end section has an annular groove extending radially, with a button-shaped bulbous outward extension in front of the groove;
  • the curler has an end section which is axially rotationally resilient and is provided with radial openings for a needle which can be freely inserted.
  • various ways of inserting the needle arise from the fact that additional openings are arranged on a first end section in the same plane as the through radial openings at a distance of at least the diameter of the opening from the radial openings in the direction of the pin and communicate in a straight line with the oppositely disposed openings, or the end section has an annular groove with slots extending in a coaxial direction and an axial opening communicating with the slots. Consequently, for securing the curler, the needle can either be inserted diametrically through the slots or through the axial opening and a slot or through a slot and the axial opening.
