Abstract

Folding chair or deck chair, wherein the backrest, respectively all the deck chair is transferred from a relatively flat position (relaxation position) to an almost vertical chair position, through different more and more straight positions, the folding chair or deck chair being foldable so as to occupy the smallest and flattest possible volume. Description

Folding armchair or deck chair

The invention relates to a folding armchair or deck chair according to the preamble of claim 1. Such deck chairs have become widely known for use outdoors, in bathing establishments, green areas, and home gardens. The frame or the frame of these deck chairs is formed by straight wooden rods which, as mentioned in the introduction, are articulated to one another. In the top of the rear legs, notches are provided, into which the lower ends of the side rails of the backrest engage, whereby the inclination of the backrest is adjustable. Between the upper cross strut of the backrest and the cross bar connecting the two rear legs at the front, i.e. on the front legs, a covering or mat made of a textile fabric is provided, with which a concave or trough-like, continuous back support and seat surface (in steeper position of the backrest) or a continuous lying surface, approximately like a hammock, is formed. Such a folding armchair or deck chair has proven itself as an actual reclining chair, "that is, for resting in an extended, essentially horizontal position - or else with a sloping backrest, for example when reading for easy reading. In contrast, the invention has for its object to provide a folding armchair or deck chair which is suitable for both uses, in which the backrest or the entire deck chair extends from a relatively flat position (rest position) over various steeper positions can be adjusted to the almost vertical dining chair position. This furniture should be collapsible to the smallest possible volume with a simple and robust construction. The solution to this problem is given in the claims, in particular in the characterizing part of claim 1. According to the invention, a groove or guide is provided on the rear legs laterally / below, in each of which a pin engages, which projects horizontally from the lower end of one spar of the backrest. Through this guide, the backrest is forcibly guided on the rear legs, so that all positions are safe and stable. The pins can be supported on the front end of the groove (flattest position of the backrest) and on the rear end of the guide groove (folded position). In between, several catches can be provided for gradual adjustment. The guide groove can be straight, but preferably curved upwards, as a result of which the backrest not only gets into a steeper position, but is also lifted - together with the seat part.

The guide grooves preferably each have an upward curvature, in the apex of which at least one catch is provided. In this regard, reference is made in detail to subclaims 2 to 7, which are described in more detail in the description of an exemplary embodiment - in order to avoid repetition and for better clarity.

By means of a screw between the lower end of the backrest and the rear end of the rear legs, the inclination of the backrest and thus the position of use (couch / dining chair) can be adjusted continuously. In this case, however, there are no intermediate catches, but a continuous lower guideway.

A relatively rigid seat part is preferably articulated with its front ends on the front legs, on the same hinge pin as the front ends of the rear legs, and with its rear ends on the side rails of the backrest, below the armrest of the folding armchair. In the almost vertical position, the seat has just the height required for dining. If - after having taken a meal - the supine position is adjusted to a flatter or completely flat resting position, then the front legs also follow this flat position, as was the case with previous deckchairs; however, the seat surface and the armrests, particularly in the front area, reach an altitude that is too low. This is very inconvenient, especially for the elderly or disabled. They have difficulty moving to such a low lying or resting position, especially if the armrests on which they want to be supported when lying down and standing up are also too low above the ground or floor.

An important embodiment is therefore characterized in that the lower support surfaces of the front legs are arched backwards / downwards or are designed as a curved surface, etc. that the decrease in the steepness of the front legs corresponds to the reduction in the height of the seat part and armrests (at least in part).

The known deckchairs usually include a footrest or lower leg support, the horizontal support part of which is supported on the one hand at the front end of the deckchair and on the other hand on a pair of legs; A folding stool with scissor-like pairs of legs is more convenient for this purpose. In a further embodiment of the invention, a roller or roller is provided at a distance below the seat surface corresponding to the thickness of the folded folding stool. The upper ends of the front legs can be simply hinged to the armrests by means of a horizontal hinge pin. As mentioned above, however, it is desirable that the armrests get as high as possible with a slight inclination of the front legs (lying position). Although this could be achieved relatively easily by appropriate length, the armrests would then also be raised accordingly in the eating position, which would be annoying. It would therefore be important to raise the armrests, especially in their front area, only in the lying position, but not in the eating position. For this purpose, in a further embodiment of the invention, the front legs are not articulated directly on the armrests, but with the interposition of a mechanical coupling part, in particular one swivel arm each. In the rear position of the swivel arm (lying position), the front legs are supported with their front end faces on an extension of the pivot pin with which the swivel arm is articulated on the armrest, thus raising the armrest. In the forward position of the swivel arm, i.e. when the front legs are steeper (eating position), on the other hand, the armrests reach a lower position, at most by the distance between the two pivot points of the swivel arm, but above all the different inclination of the Forelegs must be taken into account (reference is made in detail to this in FIG. 2). The concept of a seating / reclining furniture according to the invention finally opens up further design options.

Garden armchairs are already known in which a basket awning can be attached. Such a basket awning is very desirable for protection against wind and sun. It is also known to attach a headrest to the backrest. For this purpose, bolts can protrude downward from the headrest, which can be inserted into corresponding holes in the upper cross member of the backrest. In a further embodiment, these plug pins are located on a lower horizontal ' Crossbar of the headrest, which is pivotable or rotatable under friction relative to the headrest.

As can be easily seen, the furniture has a seat part 1 and a backrest 2, which are supported by two front legs 3 and two rear legs 4. The seat part 1 is articulated with its front area by means of articulated bolts 5 on the central area of the front legs 3; on the same hinge pin 5 the front ends of the rear legs 4 are articulated, which extend obliquely below / behind to the ground. The lower ends of the side rails 6 are supported on the rear legs 4 (to be carried out). Above this support, the rear end of the seat part 1 is articulated on the side rails 6. Above this Joint 7, the rear end of the armrests 8 is articulated on the side member 6 of the backrest 2. The upper ends of the front legs 3 are articulated to the front area of the armrests 8. In a view from the front (seen from the center on both sides to the left or right, FIG. 7), one side spar 10 of the seat part 1 and one spar 6 of the backrest 2 appear in one plane, both connected to one another by means of joint fitting 7. The armrests 8 (or their vertical part 8a) and the rear legs 4 appear in the same vertical plane. This is followed laterally by a front leg 3 in the next vertical plane.

As can be readily seen, the seating / reclining furniture according to the invention (in the example) is adjustable in four different inclined positions (by snapping in at I, II, II, IV) and also in a "eating" position (FIG. 4, notch V), a further intermediate position (catch VI) is provided here on the upper guide groove. The (lower) guide groove 12 for the various rest positions is connected to the upper guide groove 13 for the β position via a connecting groove 14. When collapsed, the pins 11 slide in the rear part of the guide groove 12b.

Note the small height and length of the furniture when folded together (Fig. 5); in fact the whole furniture is only about 15 cm folded. high so that it fits into a cart for normal mailing. The rear part 12b of the guide groove is offset slightly upwards in relation to the front part 12a; In this way, a stop 15 is formed, which indicates to the user the position of the guide pins 11 below the connecting groove 14, so that the user can now raise the backrest 6 in order to get into the upper groove 13 via the connecting groove 14.

The guide groove 12, 12a, 12b, 13, 14, with the notches I - VI, can be cut directly into the wood of the rear legs 4. However, this guide groove can also be seen in a special fitting plate 16 (FIG. 6), which in turn is attached to the rear legs 4, in which case only the "raw" groove profile needs to be worked into the material of the rear legs 4 .

FIG. 6 also shows a variation in that only a single guide groove 12a, 12b, which passes over an essentially vertical region 17 and passes into a vertex 18, is provided in one pass. The notches of the groove are provided with a narrowed neck 19. In this way a push button effect is achieved, i.e. the guide pin 11 can only be lifted out of the corresponding detent against increased resistance. In order to increase the elasticity or the push button effect, a notch 20 is provided in the bottom of each of these slots.

When the backrest 2 is set steeply, the rear region of the seat part 1 being raised, the front legs 3 also move into a steeper position, so that the front region of the seat part 1 is also raised, in particular to the normal seat height of a dining chair, and without doing so the seat inclines forwards / downwards, which would result in a very uncomfortable seat. The previous deck chairs - as mentioned at the beginning - have the disadvantage that they are too low above the ground in the flat lying position, so that lying down and getting up is uncomfortable. The seat / reclining furniture according to the invention, on the other hand, which is adjustable from the dining position (high seat, steep backrest) into an approximately horizontal rest position, has - in the embodiment according to the drawing - the particular advantage that seat part 1 and backrest

For this purpose, the front legs 3 are arched backwards and downwards to the rear, so that a support surface 21 results as in the case of a crank disk. When the armchair - and thus also the front legs - is tilted into a rest position, the support point does not remain unchanged, but the support surface 21 rolls on the ground, as a result of which the seat part and armrests are raised - or. the loss of height due to the inclination is compensated to the desired extent.

A hole 21 is provided on the front legs 3 and four holes 22 are provided obliquely one above the other on the rear legs 4. The axis of a wheel 23 can optionally be inserted into each of these holes. The furniture can thus be moved in this way, but in particular the height or inclination can be varied further, depending on which of the holes the wheel axles are inserted into; finally, wheels of different sizes can also be used.

Another possibility of adjusting the height, especially the armrests 8 is given by the fact that the front legs

In the front swivel position, the front legs 3 are steeper, the armrests 8 and the seat 1 are raised accordingly. One can therefore rest more comfortably on the higher armrests 8 when resting or raising.

If, on the other hand, the swivel arms 25 are swiveled backwards (FIG. 2, dash-dotted lines), the front legs become less inclined, armrests 8 and seat part 1 thus come into a lower position.

In this example, in the case of an example, an extension of the pivot pin 9 comes into contact with the end face of the front legs 3. The folding stool 28 associated as a leg support, in particular in a rest position, can be pushed under the seat part 1 (in particular in the eating position). The furniture according to the invention is the prerequisite for further developments in various respects. For this purpose, a traction means is provided between the lower cross member 40 of the backrest 2 and a rear strut 41 between the rear legs 4. The guide groove 12 has no notches. The catches can be covered by a pivotable sheet (Fig. 9).

On a pair of legs (or on both) of the folding stool 28, a bracket 44, consisting of two swivel supports 45 and a strut 46 between them, is articulated. For this purpose, laterally projecting pins 47 engage in bores 48 at one end of the swivel legs, specifically in two or more bores provided at a distance from one another on the crook legs. The swivel bracket 44 can thus be swiveled forward so that the stool is supported on these swivel supports and thus reaches a greater height or inclination. 1.
