Abstract

A corbel (5), which is designed to be fixed on an older house wall (1) and on which corbel (5) as well as one or a plurality of additional corbels (5) a building beam (6), e.g. a prestressed brick course, is placed and serves as a basis for e.g. a new masonry brick wall. The corbel (5) is composed of a cast material as well as one or plurality of reinforcement bars (2), by means of which the corbel (5) is fixed on the house wall (1) due to the reinforcement bar (2) being cast integral with and hence being fixed in the corbel (5) as well as the house wall (1). In a preferred embodiment of the present invention an one-way mold is attached to the house wall (1) and around the reinforcement bar (2) and a hydraulic binding agent filled on the one-way mold is hardened in order to produce a corbel (5) according to the invention.

Description

Corbel in a House Wall for a Masonry Wall beside the House Wall
The present invention relates to a corbel or mounting shoul- der, which is designed to be fastened in a house wall and to serve as a support on the house wall. Such a corbel is, to¬ gether with one or several such corbels, primarily designed to support a,supporting beam, e.g. a prestressed brick cours A masonry wall is to be laid on this beam in a manner known "'per se. Said beam may also support a balcony or the like be¬ side the house wall.
It is known through Swedish patent application no. 8100251- " Upphangningsklack, avsedd att medelst fSstorgan infastas i en byggnadskropp ... ", how to mount brick facades on pre¬ stressed brick courses, which in turn are supported by a plu rality of bearing shoulders or corbels. Each one of the latt is composed of a hollow sheet profile, which is provided wit a horizontally disposed supporting surface and is filled wit ^ a binder, e.g. a hardened cement mixture, Mouting means, whi are pushed through a projecting overlap portion of the sheet and are fastened to the house wall, attaches the hollow pro¬ file to the house wall.
'.:Surprisingly, it has now been found according to the present invention, that a corbel, which is similar to the corbel des cribed above, can be produced, which is simple, has no hollo profile, solely is composed of a hardened binder or the like and can be produced on the house wall in its intended final ' "place.
The present invention relates to a corbel attached to a house wall and designed for a masonry wall, a balcony or the like o the house wall.. The new feature of the invention resides in the corbel being attached to the house wall by means of one of several reinforcement bars or the like, which is embed¬ ded in and thus fixed in the corbel as well as the house wall.
In a preferred embodiment of the present invention the cor¬ bel is composed of a hydraulic binding agent, preferably concrete.
In another preferred embodiment of the present invention the reinforcement bar is fixed in the house wall by means of having it put into a bore hole in the house wall and surrounded by a tubular cover, e.g. produced from card board, which has been palced in the bore hole and been filled with a moistened and hardened dry concrete.
In a particularity preferred embodiment of the present in¬ vention the corbel is cast in a mainly parallellipipedical- ly shaped one-way mold, e.g. produced from corrugated paper treated with a plastic material, against the house wall and around the reinforcement bar fixed in the house wall. The one-way mold is open upwardly as well as against the house wall. It is provided with fastening flanges as well as stiff uness-enhancing flanges. The one-way mold is attached to the house wall by means of the fastening flanges, e.g. using batten pieces and nail pegs, The batten pieces and the nail pegs as well as the one-way mold preferably are removed from the corbel, when the binding agent has hardened.
The present invention will be described in more detail with reference to the attched drawings, in which: Fig. 1 is an elevational cross-sectional view of a wall of an older house and a masonry facade laid beside the house wall and supported by a corbel according to the present invention;

Fig. 1 shows an existing basement wall 1 supporting a house wall 9 and a floor 10 in a known manner. A rein¬ forcement bar 2 has been introduced into a bore hole in 0 the basement wall 1. Prior to this introduction a tubular cover 4 made of card board and filled with dry concrete has been moistened with water and then been introduced into the bore hole. When the reinforcement bar 2 is pushed into the tubular cover 4, the latter is dilated, 5 the card board is cracked and the moist concrete 3 fills out the bore hole 'under compression resulting in fixing the reinforcement bar 2 in the basement wall 1 , when the concrete 3 has hardened inthe bore hole. A corbel 5 is subsequently cast against the basement wall 1 , in order 0 to make the corbel a ' integrated portion of the wall 1 , and around the reinforcement bar 2 protruding from the wall 1, e.g. by means of the one-way mold shown in fig. 2 a and 2 b as well as in fig. 3 (not shown in fig. 1) , made of e.g. corrugated paper treated with a plastic ma¬ terial. A prestressed brick course 6 is placed on the cor¬ bel 5 and one or more additional corbels 5, which are i- dentical with the shown corbel 5 and fixed in the basement wall 1 in the same-', manner and at the same level (not shown in fig. 1) . A new brick facade 7 has been laid on the prestressed brick course 6 and an extra insulating ma¬ terial 8 has been introduced in a manner known per se bet¬ ween the older house wall 9 and the new brick wall 7.
Fig. 2 a and 2 b show an one-way mold of card board, pre¬ ferably made of corrugated paper treated with a plastic material, by means of which a corbel according to the pre¬ sent invention is cast (not shown) , in order to have a reinforcement bar (not shown) , which is fixed in a house wall or a basement wall, also fixed in the corbel and make the latter an integrated portion of the house wall.
The card board mold in fig. 2 a, 2 b and 3 is provided with two gables 21 and 22, which possibly bulge outwardly somewhat in order to make the mold stackable, The card board mold has two bottom surfaces 24 and 25. The surface 24 has an inclination upwardly from the surface 25 in order to partly make the volume of the corbel less but without greatly waiving the strength properties of the corbel and the quality of the fastening in the corbel of the rein¬ forcement bar and partly give the corbel a more attractive appearance. The card board mold is entirely open upwardly and against the house wall (not shown) .
The card board mold is attached to the house wall and around the reinforcement bar 3 by means of letting batten pieces (not shown) cover the fastening flanges 29, 30 and 31 of the card board mold and pushing nail pegs (not shown) through the batten pieces and the fastening flanges and into holes in the house wall. When the concrete intro¬ duced into the card board mold (not shown) has hardened, the nail pegs and the batten pieces are removed from the finished corbel and also the card board mold, in case it is desirable to do so and its inner casting surface has been treated with a release agent in a known manner. The flanges 26, 27 and 28 are enhancing the stiffness resul¬ ting in a more firm card board mold, when it is filled with concrete.

Claims

CLAIMS :
1. A corbel fixed on a house wall and designed for a masonry wall, a balcony or the like beside the house wall, c h a r a c t e r i z e d in that it is fixed on the house wall by means of one or several reinforce¬ ment bars (2) or the like, which is cast integral with and hence fixed in the corbel (5) as well as in the house wall (1) .
2. A corbel according to claim 1, c h a r a c t e ¬ r i z e d in that it is made of a hardened hydraulic binding agent, particularily concrete, preferably re¬ inforced concrete.
3. A corbel according to claim 1 or 2, c h a r a c t e ¬ r i z e d in that the reinforcement bar (2) in the house wall (1) is surrounded by a bore hole and a tubu¬ lar cover (4) , which is made of e.g. card board, placed in the bore hole and filled with moistened and hardened dry concrete (3) .

A corbel according to claim 2 or 3, c h a r a c t e ¬ r i z e d in that the corbel (5) is cast in a mainly pa- rallellipipedically shaped one-way mold, e.g. made of cor- rugated paper treated with a plastic material, against the house wall (1) and around the reinforcement bar (2), which is fixed in the house wall, the one-way mold being open upwardly as well as against the house wall (1) and provided with outwardly folded fastening flanges (29,30 and 31) and preferably also stiffness-enhancing flanges (26,27 and 28), by means of which fastening flanges the one-way mold is attached to the house wall (1) , e.g. by means of batten pieces and nail pegs, the batten pieces and the nail pegs and preferably also the one-way mold being removed from the corbel, when the binding agent has hardened.
