Definitions
- the invention relates to the porting of windsurfers over medium or short distances to the water body of use.
- a surfboard and its accessories represent a burden of about 25 kg, which we are forced to move when using at least the width of a beach, the egg that can be quite important in tidal seas. For short distances this burden is most often transported by arm, separating the elements, board and sails. For greater distance it is preferable to make only one trip, either by carrying two complete boards to two people, or, when one is alone, by carrying the complete board on the shoulder or on the head, which is quite impractical and detrimental to the cervical vertebrae.
- the object of the invention is to avoid the above drawbacks by providing a carrying device which allows, in complete comfort and in complete safety, to carry a complete board with its accessories.
- the invention essentially consists in making a support pressing symmetrically on the two shoulders of the user and supporting the flat board above his head without pressing on it.
- the device according to the invention comprises two substantially vertical uprights situated plumb with the two shoulders, these uprights being terminated at their lower ends by forked or curved and padded support pieces fitting onto the shoulders at their upper ends by a horizontal frame receiving the sail board these two uprights being further joined together at a relatively low level by a padded cross member pressing on the nape of the neck, and at a higher level by a cross member pressing on the forehead and preferably made up of a strap.
- FIG. 1 is a perspective view of the device
- FIG. 2 illustrates the movement of loading or unloading
- Figure 3 illustrates the porting.
- the device comprises at the lower part two shoulder support pieces 1 of arcuate shape to each fit on a shoulder of the user.
- At the upper part it has a frame 2 which is sensibly plane, having a top view of any shape, closed or not, and intended to support the board.
- this structure consists of two vertical uprights 3 of an appropriate length, slightly greater than the distance between the top of the shoulders and the top of the head of a tall individual. These two uprights 3 are joined by a neck cross 4, preferably of arcuate shape to bypass and fit on the neck of the user or below it.
- the uprights 3 are also joined by a front crossmember 5 located at the forehead, and preferably constituted by a strap, possibly adjustable.
- the shoulder support pieces 1 are preferably padded, at least on their internal edge, as is the neck rail 4, and the support frame 2 is preferably equipped with a non-slip lining, at least on its upper face in contact with the board.
- the device To use the device, one starts by placing the board flat on the ground and fixing it over, by any appropriate means, its various accessories, in particular the mast and the vishbone. Then the user places the device of f igure 1 on his shoulders by sliding his head between the neck rail 4 and the front rail 5, as shown in f igure 2, which allows him to manipulate the device without having to hold it. He can then lift the whole of the burden 6 from the rear, letting it rest on the ground by its point 6a, and gradually slide under the board until the front end 7 of the framesupport 2 arrives substantially at the level of the mast foot, that is to say slightly in front of the center of gravity of the assembly. The burden can then effortlessly tilt around the fulcrum 7 until it lies flat on the frame 2, its center of gravity being substantially perpendicular to the middle between the uprights 3, in the position shown in f igure 3, or slightly behind.
- the user can then let go of the board, which remains perfectly in balance in a horizontal position, resting on his shoulders by means of the device, and therefore having only very small forces to exert on the crosspieces 4 and 5, therefore without fat head fatigue, which also does not support any vertical load.
- each support piece 1 can be provided with a vertical tubular part mounted for free rotation inside the corresponding upright 3, also produced by a tubular piece, which allows the two pieces 1 to automatically orient in the best possible orientation. At the same time this arrangement makes it possible to completely rotate the parts 1 to bring them flat in the plane of the uprights 3.
- the carrying frame 2 can also be articulated at the upper end of the uprights 3 using two articulations 8 of horizontal axes located in the extension of one another and offset below the frame to also allow fold it down in a plane parallel and cont igu to the plane of the uprights 3, in order to facilitate storage and transport of the device.
- the possibility of articulation towards the front of the frame 2 allows the whole of the frame 6 and the burden to tilt around the axes 8, as shown in f igure 2, instead of being the burden alone that swings around the end 7 as before.
- the articulations 8 must be provided with an angular abutment means, not shown, preventing the rear angle made by the frame 2 with the uprights 3 from descending below the perpendicular, as shown in f igure 3.
- the immobilization in this position is done automatically during transport by bringing the center of gravity of the burden slightly behind the plumb of the uprights 3 and the joints 8.
- the entire device could be removable, and some of its elements, for example the uprights 3, telescopically adjustable in height and optionally provided with elastic damping means.
