Abstract

A laminated material used particularly as a flexible and foldable material for manufacturing packings, and provided with weakening lines (6) making possible the use of tearing tongues, is produced from a support layer provided with weakening lines obtained by slitting This support layer is joined to a non-perforated tight layer which may be lined, if necessary, with a sealing layer. According to an advantageous utilization of said packing material in a gas tight packing, the free end of a tearing member, for example, a tearing tongue (7), is located in a double thickness section wherein the two layers (4, 5) of the material comprise regions delimited by weakening lines, which may be easily detached from the rest of the package when pulling on the tearing tongue. An advantageous utilization of such packing material with weakening lines relates to the manufacturing of bags where the tearing member is arranged along the packing web material.

Description

Manufacturing process for a composite material, and its use in packages and in processes for producing the same.
Technisches Gebiet:Technical field:
The invention relates to a flat, in particular flexible and foldable composite material which has lines of weakness at predetermined points, to this composite material itself, and to its use as packaging material in packs and in their production, the predetermined lines of weakness of the packaging material opening the Enable and / or facilitate packaging.
Stand der Technik ;State of the art ;
In some areas of technology, flat materials, and in particular also flat composite materials, are used which have lines of weakness at predetermined points along their flat extent, along which these materials are subdivided or separated during their later use. In particular, flexible and foldable composite materials are used as packaging materials for the production of packs which have tear-open elements which interact with the lines of weakness of the packaging material in such a way that opening of the package caused by the tear-open element is made possible or facilitated.
In some packs of this type, a shell is formed from the flat, flexible and foldable packaging material around the, for example, solid packaging, a tear strip is arranged on the inside between two lines of weakness of the packaging material. The tear strip is designed so that you can grasp its beginning with your fingers and pull off the tear strip, which, for example, creates a slit-shaped opening in the package envelope through which the package is opened or at least initiated. The lines of weakness on the packaging material are produced, for example, by embossing using a cutting tool. Such an embossing process is particularly delicate in the case of the relatively thin materials used for packaging purposes and requires a high level of precision in the tools used, in particular if undesired perforations of the material on these embossments are to be reliably avoided.
Darstellung der Erfindung:Presentation of the invention:
The invention is based on the object of specifying a method for producing a flat, in particular foldable, composite material which is provided with weakening lines at predetermined points, for which composite material, despite the existence of the weakening lines, a tightness is reliably ensured over its entire areal extent. The invention is based on a further object of an advantageous use of the composite material according to the invention as packaging material in packs and in their manufacture, in which the weakening lines formed according to the invention are advantageously used in conjunction with tear-open elements on these packs. The object on which the invention is based is achieved in the method according to the invention for the production of a particularly flexible and foldable composite material, which is characterized in that a particularly flexible and foldable carrier layer is provided with punched holes at least in places along the locations of the predetermined weakening lines and then with its flat extent a particularly flexible and foldable sealing layer - advantageously by a lamination process - is connected. The punching of the carrier layer along the lines of weakness can take place simultaneously with printing on the carrier layer. In this way, the requirement that the print must be held in a certain position with respect to the intended weakening lines is easily met.
According to an advantageous embodiment of the method according to the invention, the sealing layer has a sealing layer in the side facing away from the carrier layer, which is advantageously formed after the sealing layer has been connected to the carrier layer.
The object on which the invention is based is further achieved in the use according to the invention of the composite material produced by the method according to the invention as packaging material in packs or in processes for the production thereof, the packaging material provided with weakening lines being indicated by the position and arrangement of the weakening lines and, if appropriate, the printing the special design of the pack is a pre-product of the pack production. This use of the composite material produced according to the invention as packaging material takes place in packs which are characterized in that the packaging material has at least one doubling area in which it forms two layers which are connected to one another flatly with the aid of its sealing layer, such that the start of the tear-open element is in one of these Duplication areas is located and that the area occupied by the tear-open element of that packaging material layer which merges into the envelope part connected to the tear-open element, in the other packaging material layer of the duplication area, is opposite an area which is at least almost completely due to lines of weakness of the packaging material and possibly the edge of the duplication area is enclosed. The tearing member and the two layers of packaging material are advantageously joined together in the doubling area in which the start of the tearing member is located.
The special arrangement of the lines of weakness ensures that areas connected to or attached to the tear-open element in both packaging material layers of the doubling area can be easily separated from the packaging shell when the tear-off element is removed, thus enabling or facilitating this removal. Now exists between the two layers of packaging material and the tear-open element - e.g. a gas-tight connection through a seal, the pack is also gas-tight at this point.

Packs, this pack is a known per se A two-fin tubular bag pack in which one of the fins contains the start of the tearing member as a doubling area of the packaging material.
The use according to the invention of the composite material produced according to the invention as packaging material also takes place in the manufacture of tubular bag packs, which is characterized in that a continuous tear-open element is provided or attached to the packaging material web provided with weakening lines in the direction of its longitudinal extent, if necessary between two weakening lines, before the tubular bag pack is produced in a manner known per se. The packaging material web used can advantageously have a cold adhesive coating in a manner known per se, to which a tear tape coated on one side with a cold adhesive is hot-laminated on its cold-glue-free side by means of a thermoplastic binder as the tear-open device.
Kurze Beschreibung der Zeichnungen:Brief description of the drawings:
Fig. 1 shows a schematic representation of a tubular bag pack in which the composite material according to the invention was used. The flexible and foldable composite material web provided with weakening lines and used as packaging material for the production of such a tubular bag pack consists of a web-shaped carrier layer along the intended weakening lines with punched punchings as well as a sealing layer concealed against this, which has a sealing layer on the side facing away from the carrier layer is provided. Advantageous designs of this flat composite material web are given in the examples.
The tubular bag pack is produced in a manner known per se by the fact that in the packaging machine the continuously tapering sealable packaging material web, which at predetermined points has lines of weakness or a tear tape attached to the sealing layer between two web lengths, in this longitudinal extent (Fig. 1) folded around the packaged goods, for example chocolate bars, and by forming a longitudinal sealing seam (not shown in the figure), a tubular casing 2 enclosing the packaged goods is formed, which is divided into individual packs by transverse sealing seams 3, 3 'and cutting of the packaging material at these seams. By means of these transverse sealing seams 3, 3 ', fin-shaped double regions are produced at the ends of the pack, at which two layers of packaging material 4 and 5 or 4' and 5 'are connected to one another in a flat manner. The packaging material layers 4, 4 '(in FIG. 1) lying on the top of the package merge into the upper part of the packaging envelope, on the inside of which a tear tape 7 is attached between two lines of weakness 6 of the packaging material. On the weakening lines, webs are provided between the punched sections. The beginning 9 of the tear tape 7 is located on the underside of a tab-shaped extension 10 of the packaging material layer 4 at the doubling area of the transverse sealing seam 3 or extends in its sealing area between the packaging material layers 4 and 5. The packaging material layers 4 and 5 and the Tear tape 7 connected by the sealing area and gas-tight together. Such a flat and gas-tight connection of the tear tape 7 with the lower layer of packaging material 5 is not yet known in tubular bag packs of this type.
To facilitate tearing, the beginning of the tear tape is now designed in a special way. 2 shows a tubular bag pack in a tell-tale in which such a special design of the tear tape beginning, which in contrast to FIG. 1 now has no tab-shaped extension, is shown schematically.
Dem in der (oberen) Verpackungsmaterial-Lage 4 durch diese Schwächungslinien 6 begrenzten Bereich liegt nun in der (unteren) Verpackungsmaterial-Lage 5 ein Bereich 11 gegenüber, der durch eine U-förmig verlaufendeThe start of the tear tape is located at the doubling area made of the packaging material layers 4 and 5, which is produced by a transverse sealing seam. The tear tape 7 attached to the inside of the packaging envelope part or the packaging material layer 4 (shown in FIG. 2) lies between two weakening lines 6 of the packaging material, on which one recognizes the webs 8 between the punched holes and which, however, run parallel to one another over the majority of the pack, but wedge-shaped apart within the packaging material layer 4. The area delimited in the (upper) packaging material layer 4 by these weakening lines 6 is now opposite in the (lower) packaging material layer 5 by an area 11 which has a U-shaped area
Line of weakness 12 or the edge 13 of the doubling area is enclosed.
To tear the tear tape, grasp the start of the tear tape in area 11 of the doubling area formed by the two layers 4 and 5 and pull it up in the direction of arrow 14. This is connected to the beginning 9 of the tear tape 7 flat and gas-tight Area 11 of the packaging material layer 5 is cut off at the U-shaped weakening line 12 and the weakening lines 6 lying on both sides of the tear tape are torn from the doubling area edge 13. The package is then opened as usual by further pulling off the tear tape.
Bester Weg zur A.usführung der Erfindung :Best way to carry out the invention:
Two advantageous examples of the use according to the invention of the composite material according to the invention in tubular bag packs are given below.
Beispiel 1:Example 1:
A one-sided coated, satined paper web with a basis weight of 60-100 g / m 2 is used as the packaging material web, which is simultaneously provided in a rotary printing machine with a surface decor printing and in places punched holes along the weakening lines provided on the packaging material. A strip-shaped aluminum foil with a thickness of 0.008 to 0.012 mm is coated on one side with a lamination medium and laminated against the printed paper web with weakening lines. This composite is finally coated with a cold adhesive on the side facing away from the paper web.
A thin polyethylene tape provided with a cold adhesive coating on one side with its cold adhesive-free side is then applied as a tear tape to the packaging material web thus produced. This takes place, for example, in that the polyethylene tape in the packaging material tape is used in the manufacture of tubular bag packs In the longitudinal direction, a thermoplastic binder, such as wax, is hot laminated onto the cold adhesive coating of the packaging material web fed to the packaging machine.
In contrast, in the manufacture of known tubular bag packs, the tear tape is transversely onto the packaging material web, i.e. in particular applied perpendicular to their longitudinal extent, for which purpose very complex mechanical engineering measures are required in the packaging machine, which are avoided in the use according to the invention.
The further steps for the production of the hosepipe packs then take place as described with reference to FIG. 1, the sealing seams to be carried out being realized by cold sealing.
Beispiel 2:Example 2:
Das gemäß diesem Beispiel einzusetzende Verpackungsmaterial unterscheidet sich von dem in Beispiel 1 beschriebenen dadurch, daß statt der Papierbahn eine KunstStoffbahn, insbesondere eine Zellgirasbahn mit einemThe packaging material to be used according to this example differs from that described in example 1 in that instead of the paper web, a plastic web, in particular a cell giras web with a
Als Aufreißband dient eine beiderseits mit einer Polyäthylen-Schmelzkleberbeschichtung versehenes Polyesterband, das auf dieSurface weight of 28 - 40 g / m 2 , and a hot melt adhesive coating based on polyethylene is used instead of the cold adhesive coating. As a tear tape is used on both sides with a polyethylene hot melt adhesive coating provided on the
Schmelzkleberbeschichtung des Verpackungsmaterials heiß aufgesiegelt wird.Hotmelt coating of the packaging material is heat sealed.
Gewerbliche Verwertbarkeit:The tubular pouch packs are again produced as described with reference to FIG. 1, the sealing seams, in contrast to example 1, being carried out in the form of heat seals. Commercial usability:
The composite material according to the invention provided with lines of weakness can primarily be used advantageously in the form of a flexible and foldable packaging material for the production of packs, in particular for foods, such as chocolate packs, which are provided with tear-open aids.
