Abstract

PCT No. PCT/AT86/00062 Sec. 371 Date Jul. 8, 1987 Sec. 102(e) Date Jul. 8, 1987 PCT Filed Aug. 12, 1987 PCT Pub. No. WO87/02011 PCT Pub. Date Apr. 9, 1987.Gas-sealed pack for receiving pieces of a material such as chocolate tablettes. It consists of an envelope (9) of a flat and foldable material, having two edge regions (6, 6') inside which is located a detachable joining strip (7) to provide a sealed closure, preferably by cold sealing. These edge regions are folded back onto the upper surface of the envelope (9). The outside of the edge region (6'), which is applied to the top surface of the envelope (9), is linked at least on part of its surface with the surface of the envelope (9) preferably by means of a hot melting adhesive. The other edge region (6), which is not connected to the upper surface of the envelope (9), does not extend as far as the joining strip (7). A fold (3) is preferably arranged on this edge. The inner surfaces of the envelope are joined by cold sealing. Thus the pack is preferably designed in a tubular shape. To open the pack the edge region (6) is gripped at the fold (3) and pulled away from the edge region (6') while releasing the seal in the region of the joining strip (7).

Description

Tubular bag pack for lumpy packaging goods such as chocolate with a sleeve formed from a flat, foldable packaging material with a longitudinal sealing seam, on which two strip-shaped edge regions of the packaging material are connected to one another directly by a releasable sealing connection within a strip-shaped connecting region on the inside of the packaging material, these edge regions of the longitudinal sealing seam are folded over onto the surface of the packaging sleeve and the edge of the packaging material does not reach the edge of the packaging sleeve, as far as the strip-shaped connection area, and with two transverse sealing seams running perpendicular to this longitudinal sealing seam.

A tubular bag pack of this type is known from GB-A-693 888. When this package, which is described as a cheese package, is opened, the edge regions of the longitudinal sealing seam are gripped and pulled apart at one end of the longitudinal sealing seam. A part of the longitudinal sealing seam and the adjacent tubular bag transverse sealing seam are separated and the packaging material is peeled off from one end of the block of cheese. Both hands are required to perform this manipulation. After one or more slices have been separated from the exposed end of the cheese block, the remaining cheese block can be completely encased in the packaging material.

An easy-to-open tubular bag package, which is used in particular for packaging chocolate bars, is also known from DE-OS 24 58 462. The longitudinal sealing seam lies here in particular on a dividing notch of the chocolate bar on the rear side of the packaging envelope facing away from this notch. To open the package, the chocolate bar is bent at this division notch so that the longitudinal sealing seam comes to rest on the outside of the crease. The two packaging material edge areas connected to one another in the longitudinal sealing seam are peeled from one another while the packing connection is being broken open, starting from the inside of the package, and finally open up an opening in the packaging envelope.

The package described in the aforementioned DE-OS has been used on a large scale as a chocolate package in recent years. With this pack, however, in order to ensure a clean kinking of the packaged goods, the longitudinal sealing seam must practically always lie at a divisional notch or location of the packaged goods. This represents a not insignificant limitation of the possibilities for the arrangement of the longitudinal sealing seam.

The invention, as characterized in the claims, achieves the object of specifying a tubular bag package in which the longitudinal sealing seam can be arranged independently of the position of a division notch or location of the packaged goods, such as the division notch of a chocolate bar, and which can be arranged without kinking the Packaging goods can be opened easily with one hand.

The invention is explained in detail below with reference to the figures. As far as a packaging material is shown in section in these figures, it is shown exaggeratedly thick for better understanding.

Fig. 1 illustriert die Herstellung einer bevorzugten Ausführung der erfindungsgemäßen Schlauchbeutelpackung vor Ausbildung des Verpakkungsmaterialschlauches.1 illustrates the production of a preferred embodiment of the tubular bag pack according to the invention before the packaging material tube is formed.

In the packaging machine, a fold 3 is first formed on an edge 2 of a packaging material web 1 pulled off the roll, which is provided on one side with a cold sealing layer optionally attached in the profile, the inside of the packaging material lying against one another in the area of the fold 3 being connected to one another by cold sealing will. The packaging material web 1, which is provided with an edge fold 3 in its longitudinal direction (i.e. perpendicular to the plane of the drawing in FIG. 1), is now used in the usual way to form a packaging material tube around the successively supplied packaging items, e.g. Chocolate bars 4, folded over in the direction of the arrows 5, after which the edge regions 6, 6 '(FIG. 2) of the packaging material web 1 are connected to one another to form a longitudinal sealing seam.

At the longitudinal sealing seam, the cold seal connection of the two edge regions 6, 6 'takes place via a strip-shaped connection region 7 running in the longitudinal direction of the web (i.e. in FIG. 2 in the direction perpendicular to the plane of the drawing).

Anschließend an die Herstellung des Verpakkungsmaterialschlauches wird bevorzugt an der Außenseite des Randbereiches 6' ein Heißschmelzkleber 8 (Hotmelt) aufgebracht und unmittelbar danach die beiden zur Längssiegelungsnaht miteinander verbundenen Randbereiche 6, 6' in Richtung des Pfeiles 10 auf die Packungshüllenoberfläche 9 umgeschlagen und dabei die mit dem Heißschmelzkleber versehene Außenseite des Randbereiches 6' vor Erstarrung des Schmelzklebers mit der Packungshüllenoberfläche 9 verklebt (siehe Fig. 3).Subsequent to the production of the packaging material tube, a hot-melt adhesive 8 (hot melt) is preferably applied to the outside of the edge region 6 'and immediately thereafter the two edge regions 6, 6' connected to one another for the longitudinal sealing seam are folded over in the direction of arrow 10 onto the packaging sleeve surface 9 and thereby the the outside of the edge area 6 'provided with the hot-melt adhesive is glued to the packaging envelope surface 9 before the hot-melt adhesive solidifies (see FIG. 3).

The packaging material tube enclosing the chocolate bars 4 is now provided in each case between two successive chocolate bars with two transverse sealing seams 21 running parallel to one another and divided into individual tube packs by separating cuts between these two transverse sealing seams.

The tubular pouch produced in this way is shown in Fig. 3 in a partial representation in section and in Fig. 4 in perspective. One recognizes the longitudinal sealing seam with the fold 3 of the edge region 6, which is folded over and fixed by gluing on the packaging envelope surface 9, as well as one of the transverse sealing seams 21, which now form the fins 11 of the tubular bag pack.

The opening of the package will now be described in more detail with reference to FIGS. 5 and 6, which - each in a partial representation analogous to FIG. 3 - show two different phases of the opening process. To open the pack, the edge area 6 is gripped at the fold 3, raised in the direction of the arrow 12 (FIG. 3) and pulled further in the direction of the arrow 12 'or 12 "(FIGS. 5 and 6) 5, the edge area 6 is peeled off from the edge area 6 'while separating the sealing connection 7 of the longitudinal sealing seam, until finally (FIG. 6) the two edge areas 6 and 6' are completely separated from one another 6 in the direction of arrow 12 "an increasingly widening opening 13 in the packaging envelope. During the opening process, after the sealing connection 7 has been separated in the longitudinal sealing seam - depending on the structure of the packaging material or the level of the sealing seam strength - the transverse sealing seams 21 of the fins 11 are peeled off in the region 14 (FIG. 4) or the packaging material tears in this region 14 these fins 11 a.

In the packaging described above, for example, a three-layer packaging material is used, as shown in FIG. 1 in an enlarged detail section. Starting from the outside of the pack, this packaging material consists of a 0.012 to 0.015 mm thick film 17 made of biaxially oriented polypropylene (OPP), a coated paper 18 with a grammage of 40 to 60 g / m 2 , a 0.007 to 0.009 mm thick aluminum film 19 and a latex-based cold adhesive coating 20 preferably applied in the profile (2 to 7 g / m 2 solid).

Another advantageous packaging material structure consists of a 0.01 to 0.015 mm thick OPP film, to which a metallized OPP film with a thickness of 0.020 to 0.025 mm or a metallized 0.012 to 0.020 mm thick film made of polyethylene terephthalate (PETP) and attached to the inside of the pack the cold adhesive coating follows.

For the production of a relatively cheap package, a composite can advantageously be chosen as the packaging material, which - starting from the outside of the package - consists of a 0.007 to 0.009 mm thick aluminum foil, a paper with a grammage of 35 to 60 g / m 2 and the cold adhesive coating.

Fig. 7 zeigt nun in perspektivischer Darstellung eine Schlauchbeutelpackung in halbgeöffnetem Zustand. This pack differs from the pack according to FIG. 4 in that the outside of the edge area 6 'with the pack casing surface 9 is only within the areas indicated at 15 on the transverse sealing seams 21 of the fins 11, e.g. is connected to the packaging casing surface 9 by gluing by means of a hot melt adhesive 8 applied in a punctiform manner. By producing the transverse sealing seams 21, the longitudinal sealing seam existing between the two edge regions 6, 6 'is tensioned, held in this state by the gluing in the regions 15 and thereby fixed in its folded position over its entire length.

The package is opened by grasping the end 16 of the edge area fold 3 and peeling it off in the direction of the arrow 12 '", with one or two steps advantageously advantageously being followed along the fold 3 for a complete opening the peeled surfaces of the longitudinal sealing seam 7 or the transverse sealing seam 21 of a fin 11 are indicated by puncturing.
