Abstract
Una composición y método para mitigar la autofagia vegetal y/o apoptosis de las células recién formadas en plantas cultivadas en condiciones de alta tensión ambiental. Se ha descubierto que la aplicación exógena de una citoquinina, preferentemente la quinetina, a las raíces o al follaje de las plantas mitiga la autofagia cuando es aplicada durante o justo antes de la floración. Además la aplicación de bajas concentraciones de potasio junto con la citoquinina parece proporcionar un efecto sinérgico al amplificar el efecto de la citoquinina para reducir la autofagia y aumentar la productividad de los cultivos.
