DESIGN FOR CARPET.

Specification forming part of Design No. 9,663, dated October 3,1876; application filed September 15, 1876. [Term of Patent 3} years.]

To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, JOHN H. SMITH, of Enfield, Hartford County, Connecticut, have invented or produced a new and original Design for a Pattern to belnwrought into Ingrain and other Carpeting, in colors similar to those painted on the drawings or photographs accompanying this specification, orin other colors substituted in the place of those painted on the drawings or photographs herewith; and I do hereby declare that the drawings accompanying this specification do give and convey to any one skilled in the art of carpet weaving a. defined and thorough description of thenature of my invention, and are sufficient to enable any one skilled in the art of carpetweaving to use my invention.

What I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-

The configuration of the design hereunto annexed, when applied to carpeting, in the form similar to the drawings or photographs accompanying this specification.
