Specification forming part of Design No. 5,415, dated December 12, 1871.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, JAMES L. J AcKsoN, of the city and State of New York, have invented or produced a new and original Design for Hooks for Harness, Ste.; and the following is declared to be a correct description of the same.

This design relates to the shape or configuration of the arm forming the hook, and to the ornamental shape ofthe bracket portion of the hook. Y

In the drawing I have represented, by a perspective View, said hook and bracket.

The back plate a, to set against the Wal1,1nay be of an5r desired shape, the saine not forming a portion of this design. The arni b, forming the hook, is sectionally of a semi-cylindrical shape,

and the outer end of said arm is bent upward, hollow, and of` nearly the same sectional shape as the other part of the arm b.

This arm or hook is especially adapted to harness, as the broad curved upper surface prevents injury to the leather lying on the same. This arm may be enameled or painted.

The bracket to support the arm or hook b is of the ornamental shape shown at c.

I claim as my invention- The design of the hook for harness, substantially as shown and described. Y
