UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
DESIGN FOR SPIDER-GRATE.
Specification forming part of Design No. 5,144, dated July 25, 1871.
To all whom 'it may concern:
Be it known that I, NATHANIEL H. TALBOT, of North Easton, of the county of Bristol, of the State of Massachusetts, have invented or produced a new and useful Design for a Spider- Grate; and do hereby declare the saine to be fully described in the following specication and represented in the accompanying drawing, of which- Fignre l is a top View, Fig. 2 a bottom View, and Fig. 3 an edge elevation of such grate.
It is composed of a flat circular annulus, a, a series of parallel bars, b b, and two external projections, c c, all being formed and arranged as represented. Each of' the bars, at its opposite extremities, joins with the ring and projects be 10W it, and even or in the same plane with the project-ions c c, which also extend from the ring. The portions c e and the projecting parts of the bars, extending, as theY do, beyond the lower face of the ring, serve to support the grate on the bottom of a spider or frying-pan and to hold it raised off, so that the heat and fat may freelyv circulate underneath the ring and between the bars of the grate.
