Be it known that I, MATTHIAS J osLYN RICE,

of Boston, in the county of Suffolk and State of Massachusetts, have invented and produced :t new and original Design for Card-Photograph Frames, of which the following is e specification;

Four flat pieees or bends, ol' wood, prefemhly, grooved longitudinally, so as to leave tive beadsthe two outer ones the largest-ere placed to gcther so as to leave in the center of them an oblong space, the two longer pieces crossing und being fastened to the shorter pieces in n channel out aeross in which they ere sunk, und the light ends projecting an inch or thereebout. On the upper side of this freine, at each corner, respeetf ively, is placed diagonztll and fastened :L flat piece of wood grooved with four longitudinal grooves, thus leaving ve beads-the two outer ones the largest on the upper snrt'nee-pemllel to :1nd :it :i distnnee of' tlneeeighths of an inch (inere or less) from the four lirst-nztlned pieces ot' wood, which pieces pass from the projecting end of one el' the tirstfnzuned pieces to and beyond, respectively, the projecting end of the piece otl the frzune parallel to it. These narrow pieces are grooved into mid fastened to the pieces over which they pass, and are of inferior length to the pieces ofthe frame to which they run parallel.
