EUGENE MARGILE, Ol*` NEW YORK, N. Y.
Design No. 4,795, dated April 11, 1871.
DESIGN FOR A WATCH-PLATE.
The Schedule referred to in these Letters Patent and making part of the same.
To all whom. fit mary concern:
Be it known that I, EUGENE MARCILE, of New York, in the county and State of Ne\v.York, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Designs for Watch-Plates; and 1 hereby declare that the following is a full and exact description thereof', reference being had to the accompanying drawing and to the letters of reference marked thereon.
In the manufacture and sale of watches it is found important to the manufacturer and dealer to make the plate beautiful and attractive, and the most successt'nl styles of' watches are often imitated in their general appearance when the work is really inferior in quality. Therefore a design has a real value.
My improvement in designs relates to a threequarter-plate watch, and consists of the contour of said plate as represented in the accompanying drawlng.
lu the accompanying drawing my design is clearly represented.
A is the dial-plate, and
B the thrce-quarter plate, secured to the dial-plate by three screws.
G and C is the raised three-quarter plate or bridgeplate.
C' is a division of the raised three-quarter plate; and
D and E are two bridges.
All of these parts have tastefully-curved borders or outlines, which are ornamental and yet not expensive in iinishing, thus giving the plate an attractive and beautiful appearance.
Having thus fully described my invention,
I claim` As an improvement in designs for watch-plates, the above-described contour of the raised three-quarter plate C and C', as represented in the accompanying drawing.
EUGENE MARGILE.
