Be ib known that I, THOMAS L. RIVERS, of Newark, in the county of Essex and State of New Jersey, have invented a. new and useful Improvementl in Designs for Clamps for Corners of Trunks; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the configuration thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawing making n part of this specilicetion, in which- Figure 1 is a. perspective view.

Figure 2 is n section, taken in the pinne m :c of g. 1.

Like letters in both figures of the drawing indicate like parts.

My invention relates to the class of clamps for protect'ng the corners of trunks from injury during the handling or transport-ation thereof, and consists in forming a. series of `eonvexities over and around the corner of the clamp, so ns to give it; a, more ornamental appearance, as well as greater strength and durability.

These eonvcxitins consist of n slight convcxity, a, formed immediately' over the corner of thc clamp, and then terminating iu n larger convexitiy, b, on euch side thereof, thus producing n corrugntcd or uneven surface neross the corner, which not: only gives the clump nn ornmneutnl appearance, butgrcntcr strength, rendering it less liable to breuk.
