UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
WILLIAM MARRETT, OF TOLEDO, OHIO, ASSIGNOR TO THE LIBBEY GLASS COMPANY, OF TOLEDO, OHIO, A CORPORATION OF OHIO.
DESIGN FOR A CUT-GLASS VESSEL.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 36,278, dated April 7, 1903.
Application filed February 10,1903. Serial No. 142,813. Term of patent 7 years.
T0 tZ/ whom LT Netty con/cern:
Be it known that I, WILLIAM MAREETT, a citizen of the United States, residing at Toledo, in the county of Lucas and State of Ohio, have invented and produced a new, original, and ornamental Design for a Cut-Glass Vessel, of which the following is a specification, reference being had therein to the accompanying drawings, in which-- Figure I is a perspective view of the inverted Vessel; and Fig. 2 is a section on lineman, Fig. l.
The design is applicable to various vessels of cut-glass ware. In the center of the bottom is a rosette A, surrounded by a starshaped ornament B. From the inner angles d of the star pairs of radial cuttings C extend to the periphery. Intermediate these pairs of cuttings are festoons formed by oppositelyinclined cuttings D, having an angular intersection b. These cuttings are of angular cross-section, with their inner edges c curved inwardly in opposition to the outer curve of the cut surface. Thus the outer edges of the cuttings D form oppositely-arranged curves or arcs d and e. The space intermediate the members of each pair of cuttings C is ornamented by cross-cuttings f, and the spaces between the arcs d and e are ornamented by cross fan-shaped cuttings g.
The leading feature of the design consists in a Vessel having the radial cuttings, with the space intermediate oruamented by festoons formed byoppositely-inclined cuttings of angular crosssection,witl1 their inner edges curved inward and their outward edges forming opposite arcs.
Vhat I claim as my invention is- The ornamental design for a cutglass vessel, substantially as described.
In testimony whereof I aIiX my signature in presence of two witnesses.
IVILLIAM MARRETT.
