Be it known that I, CHARLES J. AHREN- FELDT, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of New York city, in the county of New York and State of New York, have invented and produced a certain new, original, and ornamental Design for a Covered Dish or Similar Article, of which the following is a specification.
In the accompanying drawings, Figure l is a side viewof a covered dish, showing my design. Fig. 2 is a plan view of the same.
The cover I) of the dish is wave-like in outline, its periphery being provided with a series of greater and lesser curves. 0 is located at the center of the cover, and the handles 0 are located at either end of the body a, the said handles c and c consisting of two irregularly-fluted members projecting from the surface of the ware and joined at their outer ends, which are turned inwardly. Leaf-like ornaments 7?. proceed from either end of the cover-handle c, and similar ornaments h proceed from the handles 0'' of the body. Small wave-like lines 2' and j are located at the ends and sides, respectively, of the handle 0. On each side of the cover at its periphery is the ornamentation d, consisting of a series of reversely-curved parallel lines of unequal thickness terminating in the flourish c, turned abruptly toward the center A similar ornamentation fj oins of the cover.
The handle the ornament d and has a like terminal e, its opposite end terminating in an ornament g, resembling a flower and leaves turned toward the interior of the plate At the ends of the cover are ornamental parallel lines 1 and m, the former terminating in an ornament g, similar to g.
The ornamentation on the body of the dish consists of a reversely-curved ornament f, similar to the ornament f of the cover and terminating in the flourish 6, similar to e, at
one end and the ornament g", similar to g, at its opposite'end. The ornament d and terminal e are similar to d and e. The ornaments f and cl follow the contour of the base is, which is of undulate form, and an ornament at, composed of parallel lines, follows the same at the ends of the dish.
The ornamentation above described is embossed upon the surfaces of the dish.
What I claim is- The ornamental design for a covered dish or similar article substantially as herein shown and described.
