SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 35,993, dated August 12, 1902.

Beit known that I, WALTER TUR'ION, a sub ject of the King of Great Britain, residing at Arlington, in the county of Hudson and State of New Jersey, have invented and produced a new, original, and ornamental Design for Backs for Mirrors, Brushes, or Similar Arlicles, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying to drawing, forming part thereof and being a view of the back of an article having an integral body and handle, as a mirror or brush, showing my new design. 7

. My design relates to the ornamentation of backs of mirrors, brushes, or similar articles.

The leading or characteristic features thereof consist in a body portion having thereon a centrally-arranged representation of a human head, a cluster of flowers arranged below the head and covering the lower section or the body portion, and a cluster of flowers arranged around the upper portion of the head; also, in a handle portion having a series of flowers arranged at intervals thereon and connected by a continuous vine which extends through the floral ornamentations of the body portion.

In the drawing, a indicates the body portion; Z), the handle portion, forming an integral part thereof; a, the centrally-arranged o representation of a human head on the body portion; d, the cluster of flowers arranged below the head; 61, the cluster of flowers arranged above the head; d the series of flowers arranged at intervals on the handle portion, and d the continuous vine extending over the body and handle portions and connecting the floral ornamentations.

The head 0 is provided with flowing hair 6, which is intertwined among the vine and fio- 4o ral ornamentations.

Having thus described my invention, what I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-

The ornamental design for a back for mir- 5 rors, brushes or similar articles, substantially as herein shown and described.
