UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
JOSEPHINE A. REID, OF MUSCOGEE, INDIAN TERRITORY.
DESIGN FOR A KITCHEN-CABINET.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 35,584, dated January 14, 1902. Application filed December 10, 1901. Serial No- 85,416. Term of patent 3% years.
To ctZZ 2072,0772, it may concern.-
Be it known that I, JOSEPHINE A. REID, a citizen of the United States, residing at Muscogee, in the county of Greek, Indian Territory, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Kitchen-Cabinets, of which the following is a specification, referencebeing had to the accompanying drawings, forming part thereof.
Figure 1 is a front elevation of a kitchencabinet, illustrating my new design. Fig. 2 is a side or end elevation of the same.
As illustrated in the drawings, the leading or material feature of my design consists in a base 1, surmounted by a top 2, which is shown as elevated above the base to leave an intervening space 3, the top being connected to the base by pillarets 4, located at the forward opposite corners of the top and extending from the top to the upper side of the base and bounded at opposite sides by brackets 5 and 6, extending, respectively, backward from the pillarets, as shown in Fig. 2, and longitudinally of the front of the cabinet and toward each other, as shown in Fig. 1, the said brackets being shown as connected to the pillarets and top, which surmounts the base. The centralportion of the base comprises a drawer 7 for small utensils, beneath which is a door 8, coveringa shelved compartment for canned goods, and beneath the door 8 are the fronts 9 of vegetable-bins in the form of drawers. To one side of the center of the base the top thereof, which forms the table or shelf 10,
5 is provided with a depression 11, forming a sink, and beneath said sink is a doorl2, covering a shelved compartment for cooking utensils, while beneath the door 12 is illus trated the front 13 of a wood or coal drawer .0 having a door 14 covering the lower portion of the front 13. To the opposite side of the center is illustrated a' bread-board 15, beneath which is shown the front 16 of aflourbin, which front comprises a door 17 in its lower portion. Beneath the front 16 are twin drawers 18, forming bins for meal and Graham flour, each front comprising a door 19 at the lower portion thereof. Beneath the bins 18 are represented the fronts of fruit and vegetable bins 20. Drop-leaves 21 are located at opposite ends of the base. The upper portion of the top comprises glass doors 22,which cover a shelved china-closet, the same being surmounted by an ornamental cornice 23, with one or more underlying strips of molding 24. Beneath the doors 22 is represented a horizontal series of bins 25 in the form of drawers having bottom doors 26. Centrally of the horizontal tier of bins 25 is represented a clock-case 27, and beneath said clock-case is a central drawer 28. Between the top 2 and the base 1 is a horizontal series of comparativelysmall spice-bins 29,contained within a holder or casing 30, connected to the bottom wall of the top and arranged within the open space between the base and top of the cabinet, the rear of said space being closed by a back 31. The design is completed by a bed-piece 32, forming the support for the entire cabinet.
Having thus described the invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The design for a kitchen-cabinet, as herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof I have signed my name to this specification in the presence of two witnesses.
