KITCHEN- CABINET.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 394,878, dated December 18, 1888.

To all whom it may concern.-

Be it known that I, FRANK C. PERSHING, a citizen of the United States of America, residing at St. Joseph, in the county of Buchanan and State of Missouri, have invented certain new and useful lmproy'ements in Kitchell-Cabinets, of which the following is a specification, reference being had therein to the accompanying drawing.

This invention relates to certain improvements in kitchen-cabinets, which improvements are fully set forth and explained in the following specification and claim, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, and the letters and figures of reference thereon, making a part of this specification, in which the figure is a perspective view of the cabinet as it would appear ready for use.

The invention consists, principally, in the novel and economical construction of the cabinet and arrangement of its drawers and bins, whereby it is rendered exceedingly useful and commodious for service in a kitchen for holding all kinds of material for cooking purposes, eatables, and utensils.

Referring to the drawing, A represents the frame or body of the cabinet, rectangular in form and having legs extending below the cabinet far enough to elevate it above the floor high enough so that it may be swept under and so that mice and vermin cannot eongregate with safety between it and the floor.

ately below drawer P, and arranged to slide between cleats secured to the under side of the frame A, as shown.

The compartment shown at the left is fitted with a series of drawers, F, arranged to pull out at the end of the cabinet, and the opposite end compartment is divided vertically to form bins J and K for holding flour, meal, &c., which are provided with lids for covering them.

E represents a row of small drawers arranged on the rear upper side of the tabletop B for holding small articles, and H represents a small box arranged above the drawers E, and is provided with a lid for covering it, as shown. The number and size of the drawers and bins may be changed to suit circumstances, only so that the general arrangement is maintained.

The whole forms a very neat, compact, and useful article of kitchen furniture, and in a great degree dispenses with the use of a pantry or cupboard.

Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is as follows, to wit:

The kitchen cabinet B, shown and de scribed, having the end drawers, F, the central front drawers, G, P, and R, the vertically-arranged bins J K, extending the entire depth of the cabinet-frame and arranged in the end of the cabinet opposite drawers F, the sliding kneading-board C, the drawers E, and box H, all arranged substantially as and for the purpose set forth.
