DESIGN FOR A FIREPLACE-FRONT.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 35,383, dated December 3, 1901.
Application filed October 19, 1901. Serial No. 79,309. Term of patent 3- years.
To all whom, it may concern:
Be it known that I, EDWARD T. ScHooN- MAKER, a citizen of the United States, residing at Fordham, in the county of New York ,and State of New York, have invented and produced a certain new and original Design for Fireplace-Fronts, (Case A,) of which the following is a full, clear, and eXact description.
This invention relates to what is known on the market as a fireplace-front.
In the accompanying drawing,formiug part of this specification, the invention is illustrated in front elevation.
As shown in the drawing,the leading or material feature of my design consists of a frame the sides of which are provided with a figure consisting of crossed trumpets encircled by a wreath and overlying a scroll and entwined with a vine, all in high relief. The crosspiece has a central ornament, composed of crossed torches encircled by a wreath and entwined with a vine. The corners at the intersection of the uprights or sides and the cross-piece have ornaments composed of a wreath laid over a vine, or branches and streamers, which streamers extend into the sides and cross-piece. The top of the crosspiece has a crenclated molding, andthe sides and cross-piece are bordered with parallel lines of beads and a crepe-like ornamentation. The summer-front or center piece has as its central figure a representation, in relief and on a plain background, of a well-known work of art, inclosed by a circular fluted and beaded border. The background other than as described is stippled or made to present a granular surface.
