DESIGN FOR A LEVER OF A CLOSURE FOR JARS.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 35,370, dated December 190 I Application filed September 25, 1901. Serial No- 76,579- Term of patent 14: years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that 1, JOHN M. GREINER, a citizen of the United States, residing in the city of Monmouth, in the county of Warren and State of Illinois, have invented and produced a new and original Design for the Lever of a Closure for Jars, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, which are made a part hereof, and in which- Figure 1 is an elevation of the lever embodying the new design; Fig. 2 is an elevation thereof viewed from a position ninety degrees removed from the view-point of Fig. 1. Fig. 3 is a plan view thereof.
The essential leading novel features of a lever of the new design are a substantially semicircular part a, terminating in arms b, which extend vertically with respect to the general plane of said part a and lie in the same vertical planes of the extremities thereof, as seen in Figs. 1 and 2, said arms b in turn termi nating in lateral projections c, which extend inward horizontally toward each other and in approximate alinement with each other, the lever being provided with perforations d at the junctions of the part a, with the arms 1).
Minor features are the widened portions e at the junctions of the parta with the arms I), said widened portions being bounded within the angles formed by the part a and the arms I) by curved lines which merge with the surface of the part a and the arms I).

The design for thelever of a closure for jars, substantially as herein shown and described.
