SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 35,366, dated December 3, 1901.

Be it known that I, WILLIAM A. LORENZ, a citizen of the United States, residing in Hartford, in the county of Hartford and State of Connecticut, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Cans or Jars, of which the following is a specication.

My design relates to the external ornamentation of cans, jars, and similar receptacles.

Figure l ofthe drawings is a plan view, and Fig. 2 a side view, of a can or jar embodying my design.

The substantially cylindrical body l() of the jar is provided with aring 11 upon its peripheral surface, and is also provided with a series of vertically-fluted bands l2, separated by the intervals 13, the bands extending upwardly and downwardly from the outside of the ring. Y

Having described my invention, what I zo claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is

The design for a can or jar substantially as shown and described.
