DESIGN FOR A FOLDING-BOX BLANK.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 34,570, dated May 28, 1901.

Application filed March 15, 1901. Serial No. 51,3 82. Term of patent 14 years.

To all whom it may concern;

Be it known that I, CHARLES ROYCE Boss, a citizen of the United States, residing at New London, in the county of New London and State of Connecticut, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Folding-Box Blank; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.

My invention relates a new and original de-' sign for a blank for a folding box or carton.

My invention consists in the design substantially as shown in the accompanying drawing.

In the accompanying drawing, which represents a View of the blank spread out fiat, A designates the blank, which is of a general rectangular form, with a projection A at one edge.

a a designate incisions leading in straight parallel lines partially across the body of the blank from the ends of the said extended portion A a a designate curved incisions near the opposite edge of the blank from the projection A.

a a designate straight incisions extending from opposite edges of the blank toward the central line thereof, and said incisions lie in the same line.

At opposite sides of the blank, in the region of the central line thereof, are formed recesses a a stamped from the blank and having the curved edges w w and y y, the compound curved edge 00 00 forming the inner edge of the tongues A A These two curved edges at m and yy are so disposed in respect to each other as to form the narrow or neck portion aflwhich neck portion terminates in the small triangular-shaped recess a the vertex a of which lies in a plane at substantially right angles to the neck portion a". At the junction of the recesses a with the neck portion a of the recesses a a short projecting portion A A is formed in the blank.

The essential feature of the design is the peculiar form of the recesses a a and the projections A at the junction of the said recesses.

What I claim The design for a blank for a folding box or carton substantially as herein shown and described.
