DESIGN FOR A BOX-BLANK.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 32,836, dated June 12, 1900.

Application filed March Z0, 1900. Serial No. 9,460, Term of patent 14 years.

To all whom zit may concern,.-

Be it known that I, HARRY I5. SMITH, a citizen of the United States, residing at New York, (Brooklyn), in the county of Kings and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Box- Blank; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forminga partthereof.

My invention consists in a new and original design for box-blanks and is illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in Which- Figure l is a plan view of a box-blank made according to my design. Fig. 2 is acentrai longitudinal sectional view of the same.

The leading feature of my design consists of a blank comprising a body portion made substantially rectangular in plan view and having the corners thereof out away at an angle to the sides and ends, respectively, of said body portion, the said body portion of the blank being provided with integral side and end wings, as shown.

Referring to the drawings, the referencenumeral l designates the body portion of the blank, which is made substantially rectangular in shape and having the corners thereof ont away at an angle 2 to the sides and ends, respectively, of said body portion. The said body portion is provided ae each end with iniegral wings 3 and at the two sides with similar integral wings 4. As shown in the drawings, the said side and end wings 3 and 4 are formed integral with the body portion 1, and at the points or lines of connection between said body portion and wings the blank is slightly scored or creased, as indicated at 5 and 6, to facilitate the upward bending of said wingsi The Wings 3 and 4 are of substantially the same width, but in length they are slightly shorter than the maximum length and width, respectively, of the sides and ends of the body portion l, as shown, so that the adjacent corners 7 of the said wings will be separated or removed from each other. The opposite ends 8 and 9 of the side and end Wings terminate in straight lines taken substantially parallel with the scorings 5 and G, respectively, so as to form substantially-an gnlar openings at the four corners of the blank.

What I claim is- The design for a box-blank, substantially as herein shown and described.
