: Be it known that I, EDWARD B. comm- FORD, a citizen of the United States,,residing at New York, in the county of New York and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Puzzle Boxes or Cases, of which the following is a Specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part thereof, in which- Figure 1 is a plan view of a puzzle box or case, showing my new design; and Fig. 2, a transverse section thereof on the line 2 2 of Fig. 1.
My newly-designed puzzle box or case is rectangular in form, and the leading or material feature thereof consists of the bottom 5 of said box or case, the center of which is provided with a large five-pointed star 6,which is painted, printed, stamped, or otherwise formed thereon and the separate points of which are of different colors, the said bottom of said box or case being also provided between the points of the star 6 with supplemental stars 7, said supplemental stars being each of a different color, the color of said supplemental stars being made to correspond with the color of the separate points of the main central star 6, and said supplemental stars being each also provided at the center with a cavity or recess 8. The puzzle box or case is also provided with a transparent cover 9, and the surface of the bottom thereof is plain and smooth throughout. l
