UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
MARTIN T. GRAF, OF BUFFALO, NEW YORK.
DESIGN FOR A PAPER-WEIGHT.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No, 34,026, dated February 5, 1901.
Application filed December 5, 1900. Serial No.38,8e7. Term of patent 3 years.
1'0 all whom, it may concern:
Be it known that I, MARTIN 'l. GRAF, a citi- Zen of the United States, residing at Bufialo, in the county of Erie and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Paper-Weights, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming part thereof.
This invention consists in the design for a paper-weight, as illustrated in the accou1- panyingdrawing, in which the design is shown in perspective.
As seen in the drawing, the base 2 of the paper-weight is oval-shaped, and over this base is mounted a miniature representation of a running buffalo or bison 1. At the upper and lower edges of this base are arranged the annular ribs 3 and 4, between which an annular plain surface 5 is left, forming suitable space for any desirable lettering, dates, or words.
The entire design is cast in one piece, representing the figure of the buffalo on an oval base, as shown in the drawing.
The leading feature of the design consists in the miniature representation of the buffalo, as shown. Minor features are the annular ribs 3 and 4 and the plain space 5, extending around the base of the paper-weight.
Having thus described myinvention, what I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The design for a paper-weight, substantially as shown and described.
In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
MARTIN T. GRAB.
