CHARLES G. BURROWS, OF WINDSOR, CONNECTICUT, ASSIGNOR TO THE EDDY ELECTRIC MANUFACTURING COMPANY, OF SAME PLACE.
DESIGN FOR AN ELECTRIC-VEHICLE BODY.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 33,871, dated January 8, 1901.
Application filed June 27, 1900. Serial No. 21,854. Term of patent '7 years.
To all whom, it may concern/.-
Beit known that 1, CHARLES G. BURRoWs, a citizen of the United States, residing at Windsor,in the county of Hartford and State of Connecticut, have invented and produced a certain new Design for Electric -Vehicle Bodies, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to the design of an electric-vehicle body; and the object is to produce a design for an electric-vehicle body of the hansom-cab type which has graceful outline and an appearance of lightness and convenience.
Figure 1 of the accompanying views shows a side elevation of the electric-vehicle body having my design, and Fig. 2 is an end elevation of the same.
As shown in the drawings, the leading or material feature of my design consists in the outlines or configuration of the drivers seat above the battery-box, the seat-support on the battery-box, and the battery-box, the back of which is all forward of the back of the seat-support. The passenger-compartment has a horizontal floor 1, an inclined footboard 2, a low vertical splash 3, and a hood with front side edges 4, that curve upwardly and forwardly, and back side edges 5, that are sub stantially vertical, and a top 6, that curves from side to side and from front to back. The bottom 7 and the top 8 of the battery-box are horizontal, the top being wider than the bottom both from side to side and from front to back. The back 9 of the battery box curves upwardly and rearwardly to the top, and the back 10 of the seat-support extends in an unbroken curve with the back of the battery-box from the top of the battery-box to the drivers seat. The sides ll of the driversseat support curve outwardly at the bottom, and the front edges of the sides 12 curve from the seat rearwardly and then forwardly to the top of the battery-box. The sides and back 13 of the drivers seat incline outwardly as they extend upwardly from the seat. The back of the battery-box and the back of the seat-support are on an unbroken curve 9 10 from the bottom of the battery-box to the top of the seat-support.
I claim as my invention- The design for the electric-vehicle body herein shown and described.
