BODY FOR AMBULANGES 0R WAGDNS.
(Application filed Sept. 24, 1901.)
I f I UNITED STATES PATENT QFFICE.
W'ILLIAM E. MARBAKER, OF PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA.
DESIGN FOR A BODY FOR AMBULANCES OR WAGONS.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 35,271, dated November 5, 1901.
Application fil d September 24,1901. Serial No. 76,401. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that LWILLIAM E. MARBAKER, of the city and county of Philadelphia, State ofPennsy1vania,have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Body for an Ambulance or l/Vagon, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part thereof.
Figure 1 is a side view of an ambulancebody, showing my new design. Fig. 2 is a rear view of same, and Fig. 3 is a front view of same.
The features of this design consist in having the forward part of the body corresponding in design to a coup and the rear portion extended or elongated rearwardly from the coupe portion and provided at the rear with an entrance closed by doors.
As shown in the drawings, (t represents the front portion of the body and is made in general shape like a coupe and being provided at the extreme front with a drivers seat d. The forward portion f extends below the main body portion and is provided with side entrances closed by doors 0. The rear part is extended, as at b, and has the rear entrance provided with doors 6 c. It will be seen that in this design the rear portion b is of considerably less height than the forward portion. Each side of the body of the wagon is the same in design.
The leading and material feature of the design of the vehicle-body consists of the for- Ward part-,whioh in shape resembles the type of carriage known as a coup or brougham having side entrances, and the rear part formed as a box-shaped extension of the rear of the coupe-body and provided with a rear entrance.
It is apparent that this design is also applicable to vehicles for other use than for ambulance purposes.
Having described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The design for a body for an ambulance or wagon, as herein shown and described.
In testimony of which invention I have hereunto set my hand.
WILLIAM E. MARBAKER.
