Description

DESIGN.
' No. 32,505. Patented Apr. l0, I900.
L. s. BUFFINGTON.
VEHYIGLE TRUCK.
(Applieation filed. Feb. 13, 1900.)
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
LEROY S. BUFFINGTON, OF MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA.
DESIGN FOR A VEHICLE-TRUCK.
To aZZ whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, LEROY S. BUFFINGTON, residing at Minneapolis, in the county of Hennepin, State of Minnesota, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Vehicle-Truck, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part thereof.
Figures 1, 2, and 3 show a truck embodyin g my new design respectively in side elevation, front elevation, and plan; and Fig. 4. is a horizontal section taken through the case on the line 00 x of Fig. 1, the truck-wheels being shown in full.
The numeral 1 indicates the case or body of the truck. The numeral 2 indicates the truck-wheels, and the numeral 3 indicates an axle, which is incidentally shown in Fig. 4.
The leading feature of my design is found in the form of the case 1, which may be conveniently described as a flattened and truncated sphere located between the truckwheels and extending throughout more than a semicircle forward, rearward, and above the truckwheels, as best shown in Fig. 1. The lower portion of the case 1, which is in the flattened or truncated portion, extends approximately in a horizontal plane considerably below the hubs of the wheels. At its dome or upper portion the case 1 has a disklike section 4. The front and rear portions of the case 1 are semicircular in horizontal cross-section, as best shown in Figs. 3 and 4. In its flattened sides the case is provided with segmental depressions or recesses 5, in which the truck=wheels 2 run, as best shown in Figs. 1 and 4.
This vehic1e-truck was especially designed for use as the forward truck of an automobile; but it is, nevertheless, capable of a more general use in vehicles.
Having described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The design for a vehicle-truck, substantially as herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
LEROY S. BUFFINGTON.
