UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
WILLIAM H. IRBY, OF MEMPHIS, TENNESSEE.
DESIGN FOR A LAMP-FIXTURE.
SI'EGIFIOA'IION forming part of Design No. 32,738, dated May 29, 1900. Application filed Aprli30,1900. Serial Ni). 16,008. Term of patent 3% years.
messed have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Lamp-Fixture; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
This invention relates to a design for a lam pfixture for lamps of the kind intended to vaporize a volatile liquid, as gasolene or any hydrocarbon, and consume the same for illuminating purposes.
The design consists of the novel configuration of the lamp-fixture, which hereinafter will be more fully set forth, and illustrated in the accompanying drawing, which is a View in elevation of the lamp.
The vital feature of the design consists of a lam p-body of approximately globular shape, provided at its lower end with a base or stand and having a frame rising therefrom, the lower 2 5 members of the frame projecting horizontally from opposite sides of a dome surmounting the lamp-body and the frame-bars being joined by elbows and the upper frame members being formed in part by the generator 0 and the regulator, scroll brackets connecting the sides of the lamp-body with the lower frame members and other scroll brackets projected vertically from the upper part of the frame and oppositely inclined to form a suspending device.
Referringmore particularly to the drawing hereto attached, 1 represents the lamp-body, of globular shape, having the" dome 2 at its upper end and provided with the stand 3 at its lower end. A frame rises vertically from the upper end of the lamp-body and comprises the perpendicular bars 4, lower horizontal members 5, and the upper horizontal members 6. The several parts of the frame are joined by elbows. The portion of the frame in vertical alinement with the burner constitutes the generator, and the part 7 forms the regulatorandmixing-chamber. Scrollbrackets 8 connect the members 5 with the sides of the lamp body, and other brackets 9, arranged above the frame and oppositely inclined, form a suspending device and give a finished appearance to the lamp structure.
Having thus described the invention, what is claimed as new is- The design for a lamp-fixture, substantially as herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof I aflix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
WVILLIAM H. IRBY.
