UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
JOHN IIENSON BEST, OF DENVER, COLORADO.
DESIGN FOR A DISPLAY-RACK.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 32,628, dated May 1, 1900. Application filed Febrnary.26, 1900. Serial No. 6,643. Term of' patent 14 years.
To all. whom it 11mg] concern.-
Be it known that I, JOHN HnNsoN BEST, a citizen of the United States, residing at Denver, in the county of Arapahoe and State of Colorado, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Display-Racks; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the accompanying draw-V ings, forming a part thereof.
This invention relates to a design for display-racks.
In the drawings wherein I have illustrated my design, Figure 1 is an elevation of the entire stand. Fig. 2 is an enlarged plan view of the spreader J. Fig. 3 is an enlarged plan View showing the configuration of the lugs K, and Fig. 4 is an elevation of the lugs shown in Fig. 3.
As shown in the drawings, the design embodies a vertical central standard A, having at the lower end branching gracefully-curved legs B, secured at their upper ends to the standard and each provided at its lower end with a foot C. Surrounding the standard A, substantially at the upper ends of the legs B, is a horizontal table or shelf L, which in the drawings is shown to be circular. At the upper end of the standard A is a fanciful ornament D, and a short distance below the ornament is a crown I, having around the periphery thereof notches t'.
Secured to and surrounding the standard A between the crown I and table L is a relatively-large holder or spreader J, which, as shown in Fig. 2, comprises a circular riln j, connected to the standard by spider legs or spokes f2 substantially of the shape shown. Projecting from the outer periphery of the spreader-rimj is a series otV lugs K, forming between the same sockets K'. The shape or configuration of the lugs K and sockets K' is clearly shown in Figs. 3 and 4, wherein it will be seen that the outer ends M of the lugs are relatively long and narrow and ineline at an angle to the horizontal. From the ends M the upper and lower edges of the lugs curve, as shown, into the rim j, forming the sockets K'.
The essential features of the design are a vertical standard having near the upperend a crown and below the same a spreader having the lugs and intermediate sockets, substantially as described.
The design fora display-rack substantially as shown and described.
In testimony whereof I ailix my signature in presencebf two witnesses.
JOHN HENSON BEST.
