SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 31,506, dated. September 12, 1899. Application flied May 11,1899. Serial No. 718,445. Term of patent 7 years.

My design comprises a circular weight A, having one of its end faces cut away, as shown at l, for the scale-beam. The upper edge of this cut-away portion is substantially on a line with the center of the poise and is provided with the indicatingpoint A.
The essential feature of my design is the circular poise A, having one of its end faces cut away, the upper edge of the cut-away portion being substantially on a line with the center of the poise.
I claim- The design for a poise shown and described.

Be it known that I, LEwis I. HALLADAY, l a citizen of the United States, residing at i Marion, in the county of Grant and State of Indiana, have invented and produced a cert tain new and original Design fora Poise for Scales, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to a new and design for a poise for scales.
My invention is illustrated in the accompanying drawings, wherein- Figure 1 is a front view of a poise embody ing my design. Fig. 2 is a side view of the same.
Like letters refer to both figures.
The poise herein shown is particularly adapted for what is termed an even-balance scale. In this form of scale the poise as it moves along the scale-beam upon which it is original like parts throughout for scales as herein Witnesses:
