Hill? w UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
DESIGN FOR A BICYCLEFRAME.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 30,415, dated March 28, 1899. Application filed November 22, 1898. Serial Ho. 897,198. Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, LOUIS H. MANSON, a citizen of the United States, residing at Chicago, in the county of Cook and State of Illinois, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Bicycle-Frames, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the drawings, forming a part thereof.
Figure 1 is a perspective representation of a bicycle-frame embodying the features ofmy invention. Fig. 2 is a cross-section through the forks A orD about midway of their length.
As shown in the drawings, the leading or material features of my design consist in the configuration of a bicycleframe, wherein the lower rear forks A, extending from the axle of the rear wheel to the crank-hanger B, are united in a single tube or stem C, which tube or stem rigidly unites the fork-crown A with said crank-hanger B, and, further, wherein the upper rear forks D, extending from the axle of the rear wheel to the seat-post bracket E; are united in a single tube or stem F, which tube or stem rigidly connects the fork-crown D with the said seat-post bracket E.
The forks A and D are substantially of irregular octagoual form in cross-section, the inside face of each fork-arm being considerably broader than any of the other surfaces thereof.
I claim as my invention- The design for a bicycle-frame, substantially as herein shown and described.
LOUIS H. MANSON. Witnesses:
EDWARD PLOWS, HARRY G. ADAMS.
