To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that 1, JOHN SPRING, a citizen of the United States, residing in the city, county, and State of New York, have invented a certain new and original Design for Carpeting, of which the following is a specification.

My design, as shown in the drawing, consists in a new design for carpeting.

The design is characterized by bold geometrically-shaped figures diamond-like in outline inclosing other figures and separated from each other by smaller geometrical figures, some of which are attached to the principal figures. The various shapes are suggestive of the patterns of oriental rugs and are sparingly arranged upon a suitable background. A
