TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:

'Be it known that I, SYLVESTEB. S. MARVIN, of Pittsburg, in the county of Allegheny, and State of Pennsylvania, have invented or produced a new and original Design for a Trade-Mark and I hereby declare the following to be afull, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings.

The design or trade-mark there shown is intended to be applied to or impressed upon crackers made of a peculiar compound, which crackers I call French crackers. The design consists of a six-pointed star, around which the letters F R E N C Hare placed 'in a circle, whose centre is the centre of the star, with a radius about equal to the distance from the centre of the extremity or tip of one of the points. One of the letters is placed in each of six spaces between the points of the star. The rectangle or square surrounding the design represents the cracker, upon which the design is printed or impressed.
