m: mm: rc'rcns co momurm. wunmoven u c UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
ROBERT JOSEPH LEWERS, OF NEWPORT NEVS, VIRGINIA.
DESIGN FOR AN EASEL.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 29,646, dated November 8, 1898.
Application filed June 30, 1898. Serial No. 684,887. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whmn it may concern.-
Be it known that I, ROBERT JOSEPH LEW- ERS, a citizen of the United States, residing at Newport News, in the county of Warwick and State of Virginia, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Easels, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming part thereof.
My invention relates to a certain novel design for an easel, as will be hereinafter fully set forth, and illustrated in the accompanying drawing, the one view of the drawing illustrating in perspective the appearance of my design for an easel.
My design for an easel consists in the configuration and shape of the parts, as shown in the drawing accompanying and made a part of this application.
The design shows the upright or frame sections 1, the rest or support for the picture indicated at 5 5 and 8. The upright sections are connected together by the cross-bars 3 and ornamented by the sections 4, while support is given to the upright sections 1 by the inclined member 2. The parts 1 are provided with obliquely-disposed lines, while the portions 2, 3, 4, 5, and-8 have the appearance of being formed of telescoping cones, substantially as shown in the drawing.
Having thus fully described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The design for an easel substantially as herein described and shown.
In testimony whereof I aifix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
ROBERT JOSEPH LEIVERS.
