DESIGN FOR A BUSTLE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 29,558, dated Qcto'ber 25, 1898.
Application filed September 15, 1898. Serial No. 691,044. Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, J OHN H. GoonBoDY, a citizen of the United States, residing in the city of New York, county and State of New York, have invented and produced a certain new and original Design for Bustles, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part hereof.
My invention relates to designs for bustles, more especially to the side or hip sections of such articles; and it consists in a bustle having the shape and configuration substantially as shown in the accompanying drawings, in whieh- Figure 1 is a View in elevation of a bustle which embodies my design. Fig. 2 is an edge view of one of the side or hip sections as seen from the outside, and Fig. 3 is an edge viewof the same section when looked atin the direction of the arrow shown in Fig. 1.
Referring to the drawings, it will be seen that the upper or inner edge of the bustle is defined by a substantially concave line and side or hip section A is substantially a spherical triangle, as viewed in a line perpendicular to its general plane, one edge, as from a to a bein" concave in a vertical lane the b I I edge from a to a being convex 1n a vertical plane, and the remaining edge from a to a .being substantially straight. As seen in edge compoundly curved in the other of such planes.

The design for a bustle, as herein shown and described.
