SPECIFICATION forming part of Design Ilo. 29,546, dated October 25, 1898; Application filed August 12, 1898. Serial No. 688j45'7. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it 72mg concern.-
Be it known that 1, WILLIAM P. BETTEN- DORF, a citizen of the United States, residing at Davenport, in the county of Scott and State of Iowa, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Rolled-Metal Beams, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part thereof.
In the drawings, Figure 1 is a perspective View of a rolled-meta1 beam made according to my design. Fig. 2 is an end view of the same.
In the drawings, Arepresents a rolled-metal plate of suflicient width having its longitudinal side portions B correspondingly bent downward at right angles thereto to form corresponding side flanges B B and convert the same into a channel-iron. This plate is provided on its upper surface or on the side of the plate opposite that from which flanges B B project with longitudinal parallel corre sponding ridges O C, which are located an equal distance from the center of width of the plate A and have their sides farthest from said center of width made flat and at right angles to the sides of said plate.
Having described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
