DESIGN FOR A PAPER-FILE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 29,487, dated October 18, 1898.
Application filed September 22, 1898. Serial No. 691,648. Term of patent 14 years.
To (LZZ whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, OSCAR A. DEAN, a citizen of the United States, residing at Bethel, in the county of Windsor and State of Vermont, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Paper-File, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to a new and original design for a paper-file; and it has for its object to provide a design of this character which shall be both useful and ornamental.
The leading feature of the design resides in a paper-file having a pair of fiat superposed substantially U shaped plates arranged in parallel planes and a circular spring-coil body arranged in a plane beyond said plates and having its terminals extended into separate arms, respectively joined to separate plates at one end thereof.
The minor features of the design are the plates having parallel arm extensions projeetin g from opposite corners thereof, the circular springcoil body disposed in a plane at right angles to the plane of the plates, and one of the arm extensions of the spring-coil having a sigmoidal curvature.
In the drawings, Figure 1 is a perspective view of a paper-file embodying the hereindesoribed design. Fig. 2 is a longitudinal sectional view thereof. Fig. 3 is a detail in perspective of one of the plates.
Referring to the accompanying drawings, the numerals 1 1 designate a pair of duplicate flat superposed plates of a substantially U shape and arranged side by side in parallel planes. These U-shaped plates 1 have projected from opposite corners thereof the straight arm extensions 2, and in a plane beyond and at right angles to the plane of said plates is arranged a circular spring-coil body 3. The cir- 4o cularspring-coil body 3 has its separate terminals extended into the separate arms 4 and 5, which are respectivelyjoined to the separate plates at a point between the oppositely-located arm extensions 2 thereof. nal arm 4 of the spring-coil body is straight, while the oppositelyloeated terminal arm 5 is sigmoidally curved between the body and. its point of connection with one of said plates.
