CHARLES C. PENFOLD, OF BUFFALO, NEIV YORK, ASSIGNOR TO G. S. PENFOLD, OF SAME PLACE.
DESIGN FOR A BUTTON OR SIMILAR ARTICLE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 29,462, dated October 11, 1898.
Application filed September 1, 1898. Serial No. 690,047 Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that 1, CHARLES C. PENFOLD, a citizen of the United States, residing at Buffalo, in the county of Erie and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for aButton or Similar Article, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part thereof.
This design relates to the configuration and ornamentation of a button or similar article.
In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 is a face View of my design, and Fig. 2 a side elevation thereof.
Like letters of reference refer to like parts in both figures.
The leading or characteristic feature of my design consists of the representation of a human face or the front portion of a human head surmounted by a cap or fez, which bears upon its front side the representation of a simitar, a crescent, and a star.
Referring to the drawings, A is the face or front portion of the human head, and B the fez. 0, cl, and e are the simitar, crescent, and star, respectively, which symbols or devices are arranged upon the front side of the fez, one below the other, in the order named and as shown in the drawings.
