I ATTO [VS UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
\VILLIAM EI'IRLICII, OF NEIV YORK, N. Y., ASSIGNOR TO THE NEIV YORK DESK AND DINING ROOM FURNITURE COMPANY, OF SAME PLACE.
DESIGN FOR A STAND FOR TABLES.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 28,366, dated March 8, 1898.
A li ti fil d January 19, 1.898. Serial No. 667,175- Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that 1, WILLIAM EHRLICH, a itizen of the United States, residing at New York, in the borough of Manhattan and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Stand for Tables, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to a new and original design for stands for tables used in saloons, cafes, club-houses, &c., in which the base of the stand is produced in an ornamental manner, so as to embellish the unsightly appearance of tables heretofore in use for these purposes.
The nature of my design is shown in the accompanyin g drawing, which shows a perspective view of a table made in accordance therewith.
As shown in the drawing, the leading or material feature of my design consists in the triangular base A, which is provided with feet I) at each corner, and of a central cylindrical column B, rising from said base A. Between the center of the base and the column or post Bis interposed a hexagonal member (1, which slopes in an outward direction toward the base. Volute-like ornaments d" are arranged at each corner of the base and extend toward a forwardly-projecting intermediate portion d, located centrally between the corners at the sides of the base and in line with the corner of the interposed sloping portion d of the column or post B. The column or post B is provided with suitable circumferential ornamental bands 6', and may be still further ornamented if desired. The legs at the corners of the base may be provided with short flan ges having holes for screwing the table to the floor, if so desired.
Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent- The design for a stand for a table, as herein shown and described.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing as my invention I have signed my name in presence of two subscribing witnesses.
