DESIGN FOR A SOUVENIR SPOON.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 28,154, dated January 1 1, 1898.
Application filed October 14, 1896. Serial No. 608,896. Terni of paient 35 years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that LNoRuAN T. MACEEREON, a citizen ofthe United States, residing at Allegheny, in the county of Allegheny and State of Pennsylvania, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Souvenir Spoons, of which the following is a clear and exact description, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, showing the parts thereof.
Figure l is a front View showin g the obverse of the spoon, and Fig. 2 a rear View showing the reverse of the saine.
In the bowl of the spoon are the portraits l and 2 of McKinley and Hobart. Immediately above these portraits is the representa tion 3 of an eagle having outspread wings which arch over said portraits. Said eagle is at the extreme upper end of the spoon-bowl. On the spoon-handle, immediately above the eagle, is a star 5. The top of the handle is provided with the representation S of the National Capitol building. The upper end of the spoon is luted, as at 9, to give the appearance of a series of rays emanating from the representation S. liu mediately below the representation S are the representations of tu'o pieces of goldenrod l0 and ll, which are shown crossed.
The foregoing is that' of the obverse of the spoon.
The reverse of the upper end of the handle bears the representation l2 of the corner-post of a fence, on which is perched a Coon l.
Having thus particularly pointed out the features of my design, what I claim is- The design for a spoon, substantially as herein shown and deseribed.
