. fr n Z Q 6 WW UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
FRANK L. \VRIGHT, OF CHICAGO, ILLINOIS, ASSIGNOR TO THE LUXFER PRISM PATENTS COMPANY, OF SAME PLACE.
DESIGN FOR A PRISM-PLATE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 27,994, dated December '7, 1897.
Application filed Dctober 22, 1897- Serial No. 656,097. Term of patent 14 years.
T0 at whom it may concern.-
Be it known that 1, FRANK L. WRIGHT, a citizen of the United States, residing at Ohicago, in the conntyof Cook and State of Illinois, have invented a certain new and original Design for Prism-Plates, of which the following is a description.
My invention relates to designs for prismplates.
Figure 1 is a plan view of a prism-plate embodying my design. Fig. 2 is a cross-section therethrongh on line 2 2.
A A are surface areas comparatively uniform and formed by the lines of separation B B on the surface of the prism-plate. C C are prisms on the opposite side.
I) D are lines which constitute designs along a band of lower areas.
E E are lines which form designs along an upper band of areas, and F F lines which constitute designs along the intermediate areas. The result is, as illustrated, a series of panels havingeach an ornamented head and base, with intermediate connecting surface areas, and these when placed, as in the drawings, side by side constitute a prism-plate having a band or belt of ornamental figures across the top and another across the bottom, with an intermediate series of surface areas between them. The character of the ornamentation is such that the ornamented areas at top and bottom stand out distinctly, as compared with the -intermediate areas, and these upper and lower ornamental portions are connected, so to speak, by lines of connection across the intermediate areas or field.
The essential features of my design are found in a prism-plate comprising an extended comparatively thin body with prisms on one side and lines of separation which divide the othersurface into a series of surface areas, distinct ornamentation across a series of upper surface areas and across a series of lower surface areas, and ornamental lines of connection from the upper to the lower ornamented surface areas.
I claim- A design for a prism-plate, substantially as shown and described.
FRANK L. WRIGHT.
