DESIGN FOR A LANTERN-BODY.
To ail whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, EDWIN M. ROSENBLUTH, a citizen of the United States, residing in the city and county of Philadelphia and State of Pennsylvania, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Vehicle-Lantern, of which the following is a specification.
The drawing hereto attached is a view in perspective of a lantern body embodying my design.
As shown in the drawing, the lantern body embodying my design eomprehends three divisions or parts, namely: the combustion chamber A, the top or chimney B, and the lamp chamber G.
The combustion chamber is of cylindrical form and disposed with its axis in horizontal position, the rear end of said cylindrical body being closed by a concave convex web a, embodying a series of small apertures a and a jewel A The front end of the cylindrical body is of flaring or trumpet mouth form, and contains a lens of any usual type.
The top B consists of an upwardly and outwardly flaring neck I) embodying apertures (,-a head 1), formed as a vertical continuation. of said neck and embodying a series of apertures bZ-and an imperforated cover plate B seated upon said head, said cover plate being shown of concave-convex form, having the reduced waist b and a crown 12* of diameter in excess of that of the waist.
The lamp chamber 0, disposed below the combustion chamber, is formed as a cylindrical body, arranged with its axis in vertical position.
The upper portion 0' of said lamp chamber is of less diameter than the lower portion 0 and, in the vicinity of the upper end of said portion are form ed as a series of elongated wall openings 0 c is an inclosing cup-like device, seated upon the lower end of the lamp chamber.
\Vhat I claim is-- A design for a lantern body, substantially as herein shown and described.
