J. ALMETER. KNIFE BLADE. No. 27,640. Patented Sept. 14, 1897.
fizz/11% y UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
.IOIIN ALMETER, OF LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA, ASSIGNOR OF ONE-HALF TO PERRY \VIIITING, OF SAME PLACE.
DESIGN FOR A KNIFE-BLADE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 27,640, dated September 14, 1897.
Application filed June 1'7, 1897. Serial No. 641,201. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JOHN ALMETER, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Los Angeles, in the county of Los Angeles and State of California, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Knife-Blades, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part thereof.
Figure I is a side view of a knife-blade showing my new design. Fig. II is a top view of the same. Fig. III is a transverse section adjacent to the heel. Fig. IV is a transverse section of the middle portion. Fig. V is a transverse section adjacent to the point.
As shown in the drawings, the leading or material feature of my design consists in a curved knife-blade of concavo-convex form in transverse section, as shown more clearly in Figs. III, IV, and V, the coneavo-convex contour of the blade increasing from the heel to the point.
Theknife-blade has a heel portion gradually inclined into a cutting portion of concavo-oonvex shape, forming a deep longitudinal groove on one side and a rounded surface on the other side extending the length of the cutting edge from the heel to the point.
Having thus described my invention, the following is what I claim as new therein and desire to secure by design Letters Patent:
The design for a knife-blade substantially as herein shown and described.
JOHN ALME'IER.
