DESIGN FOR A FENCE-POST.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 26,990, dated April 27, 1897.

Be it known that I, MYRoN W. IIoWAnn, a citizen of the United States, residing at Gamanche, in the county of Clinton and State of Iowa, have invented or produced a new and original Design for ire-Fence Posts, of which the following is a specification.
This invention has for its object to provide a novel and ornamental Wire-fence post which presents a peculiar-and characteristic appearance.
The design consists in a fence-post having a disk-shaped foot-piece, a longitudinal V- shaped rib, and side flanges arranged at opposite sides of the rib, extending beyond the apex or point of the said rib, and provided with a plurality of ornamental slots terminating in approximately circular eyes.
The invention is illustrated by the accompanying drawings, in which Figure 1 is a perspective view of the fencepost on a reduced scale, and Fig. 2 is a plan view of the same.
In the accompanying drawings the numeral 1 indicates the disk-shaped foot-piece, 2 the longitudinal V-shaped rib, which extends continuously from the disk-shaped foot-piece to the top end of the post, and 3 the side flanges, arranged at opposite sides of the V-shaped rib and extending beyond the apex or point 4 of said rib, as clearly shown. lhc side flanges are each provided with a plurality of ornamental slots 5, extending from the edges of the flanges and terminating in approximately circular eyes 6.
The design provides an ornamental wirefence post which presents a characteristic appearance.
