DESIGN FOR A CAN.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 26,936, dated April 20, 1897'.
Application filed February 20, 1897. Serial No. 624,482- Term of patent 14 years.
To all 111710121, it may concern..-
Be it known that 1, JAMES \VILLLUI FUL- LEE, a citizen of the United States, residing in St. PnnhRamsey county,l\linnesotn, have produced and invented a new and original Design for Cans for Liquids and the Like, of which the following is a specification.
The invention relates to cans and similar vessels for the packing and transportation of liquids and the like, and the design thereof is illustrated in the accompanying drawing, which shows a perspective View of the can with its screw-cap in place.
The leading featu re of my design is the outline of the can in the form herein shown and described.
Referring to the drawing by letter, I designates the body of the can.
R designates the upward projection of the cover, merging into an apex in the same projecting part and extending downward to where itv drops into vertical walls of the can on opposite sides.
E designates the end walls of the can, having vertical sides joining the edges of the cover R and extending up into said apex.
F are flanges on the end walls which are superimposed upon the sides and cover.
II represents a ring-shaped handle, and C is a spiral projection located midway between one of the ends and said handle.
\Yhat I claim as new is The design for a can, substantially as herein shown and described.
