W'ILLIAM HESS, OF BUFFALO, NEW YORK.
DESIGN FOR A SOLID SPINDLE FOR BEDSTEADS.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 26,716, dated March 2, 1897. A li ati fil fl November 18, 1896. Serial No. 612,026- Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom, it 11mg concern.-
Be it known that I, WILLIAM HESS, a citizen of the United States, residing at Buffalo, in the county of Erie and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design of a Solid Spindle in the Shape of a Scroll for the Partial Filling in of the Ends of Metallic Bedsteads, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accolnpanyin g drawi n gs, showing a part thereof.
Figure 1 is a front elevation of my solid spindle in the shape of a scroll having two continued ends, the upper one of these ends being produced in rear of and contiguous to the outer circular parts of the scroll and beyond, and the lower end being a continuation of the outer circular part of the scroll and beyond thereof. Fig. 2 is a side elevation of the same. These two views are deemed necessary to fully illustrate my design.
The leading feature of my design consists of a solid spindle in the shape of a scroll hav- The lower end A of the scroll continues upward, curving to the right and in circular form to the part denoted by B, continuing concentrically in circular form and parallel with said outer circular part to the part denoted by O, continuing in smaller circular form, then verging rearward in rear of and contiguous to the said outer circular parts and beyond, thus forming a radial end continuation D from the inner circular part of the scroll, both said ends for connection with end rails or posts for bedsteads.
\Vhat I claim is- The design of a solid spindle for bedsteads as herein described and set forth.
