DESIGN FOR A SIDE FRAME FOR CAR-TRUCKS.

This design relates to the shap e or configuration of the side frame of a car-truck, more particularly of a truck for freight-cars.

Referring to the drawings, A is the rectangular central panel, having on its outer side a shallow marginal flange a and a rectangu lar flange ct within said marginal flange and having its sides parallel with the sides of the marginal flange.

c are longitudinal ribs or flanges arranged at the upper edge of the upper bars C on opposite sides thereof, as shown in Figs. 1 and 4. The flanges c on the inner side of the bars 0 gradually widen toward the deep flange or box A of the center panel and have a concave edge, as shown in Fig.
c are upright longitudinal ribs or flanges arranged centrally on the upper side of the bars 0 and increasing in width toward the enlargements B.
d are longitudinal ribs arranged on opposite sides of the lower bars D midway between their edges.
f are upright webs or flanges arranged on opposite sides of the central panel A and connecting the inner ends of the converging bars 0 D. i
G are the upright bars extending downwardly from the outer ends of the converging bars 0 D, and H are inclined bars arranged below the converging bars 0 D and extending from the inner ends of the lower bars D to the lower ends of the upright bars G, leaving triangular openings it between these bars.

What I claim is-- The design for the side frame of a car-truck, substantially as herein shown and described.
