THOMAS P. I-IALPIN, OF CHICAGO, ILLINOIS.
DESIGN FOR A BADGE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 26,454, dated December 29, 1896. Application filed. June 22,1896. Serial No. 596,542. Term ofpatent 7 years.
.To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, THOMAS P. HALPIN, a citizen of the United States, residing at Chicago, Illinois, have invented and produced a new and original Design forBadges or Jewels, of which the following is a specification.
My designv is shown in the accompanying drawings, in which Figure l is a face or front View, and Fig. 2 a cross-sectional View.
The leading feature of my design consists in a badge, jewel, or emblem of circular outline, its face being subdivided by three curved lines interlaced and inclosing four triangular spaces, the sides of said triangles being curved.
In the drawings, (t represents the badge, which is of circular outline.
b c (1 represent the interlaced curved lines, their ends being joined to inclose the triangular spaces e f g h, the latter space being inclosed by the three former, the sides of said central triangular figure being bounded by the interlaced curved lines and located centrally of the body. The bases of the outer triangular figures touch at adjacent corners and their apices extend to the periphery of the body. The points of outer contact of the curved lines mark the angles of an equilateral triangle.
The outer triangular figures are bounded by the central figure and the three irregularshaped figures t' j 7c, which are in the form of spherical triangles.
The central triangular space h has the figure of a beehive therein, but this feature of the design is subordinate.
I clain1 The design for a badge or jewel substantially as herein shown and described.
THOMAS P. HALPIN. lVitnesses: I
O. O. LINTHICUM, FREDERICK O. GOODWIN.
